"There are only a few big ways to save money but there are many small ways ....that all adds up."
"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
Mary, I have a recipe for toothpaste that I've been meaning to try. I just haven't done so yet. Partly because I've had some tooth sensitivity, so I've been using a special toothpaste to help with that.
I've read similar recipes, but have always been worried that the baking soda would be too harsh for the tooth enamel. Then I discovered that some toothpastes use ground up marble!
How do you get the toothpaste onto the brush? I'd hate for us all to dip our brushes into a container.
I would have never thought to put the glycern in..mostly because we use it in soap! Pretty basic. We keep baking soda and salt in the bathroom and use them to help with keeping teeth white. I am going to copy the recipe and give it a try.
My mom used to make a toothpaste that was similar to this but without the essential oils. Those would have made it much better. : )

Pam

One idea you might try is you can buy probably at the dollar store or Wall-Mart little containers that each person in your family can have as their own. That way they can dip their own brush into their own toothpaste. [0= Hope that might help.
Mary, I made the toothpaste today since I got off work early. It's pretty good stuff! The only thing I would do differently next time is cut back on the salt because I don't care for the after-taste of it.
I also added about 10 drops of tea tree oil because of the antiseptic qualities in it.
