~ Show and Tell WILL CONTINUE ! ~

Because of all your sweet words I will put the extra foot forward.  If you leave me the exact url to your post for example ...

    http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/Canadagirl/693425/

I will be willing to linking you on the bottom of my posts.  It encouraged me to hear all the sweet comments of wanting to keep Show and Tell Fridays going.  I guess life's details were getting to me and then I was doubting myself in different areas.

I want to share and then I will show.  God met me this morning.  I have been saying I will get up in the morning and spend my time with the Lord and I did just that this morning.  And boy did He meet me !  I picked up my bible and I knew I needed to pick up something else too but what ?  As I was looking in my personal bookshelf in my room I saw the book that my MIL gave me some years ago.  The Well Watered Garden ...A Gardener's Guide to Spirituality by Harriet Crosby.

Click here to enlarge the cover image   God really met me and started to water my heart that has felt very dry from all the responsibilites that I have to fulfill.  I am not a gardener that naturally gravitated toward gardening.  It really wasn't untill today that I called myself a "gardener".  I have always said I am my hubby's helpmeet in the gardenen or a gardener's asisstant but I never called myself a gardener but now I do.  I need things to have a personal meaning for me to become attatched to it and this book meet that need in me today.  This book gives a weekly assignment to reflect on for your outer garden ( the physical garden) and then a assignment for your inner garden and that means a question and a bible verse for my spiritual garden ...my spiritual walk with the Lord.

    .

I loved the Prayer of Dedication ( of your garden) she had in the book.

    .

" Lord, into your hands I offer my garden and myself.  Bless each plant; make my garden flourish and thrive.  Bless me, O God.  Strengthen me to be a faithful steward of this garden.   Bless each person  who visits this space, Lord.  May each one find you here.  And Lord, throughout the coming weeks and months meet me here.  Use my garden to speak to me, nourish me, and heal me.  For I pray in your name Jesus Christ , thank you , Amen."

    .

The author talks about things you can do to enhance your garden (make it more personal) and the ones I hope to do myself over time are...

    • A windchime (she had a neat way to relate it to the presence of the holy spirit being present)
    • A personal garden tea pot and tea cup.( a time to reflect with the Lord)
    • A garden chair with small table or garden bench a place to reflect or share your garden with a friend or family.
    • A birdbath ( I have been wanting to make a mosaic one for a few years now.  This gave me a goal now)
    • bird feeders ( to appreciate God's little creatures)

    .

One verse that she shared in the introduction that just spoke to my heart was ...

    .

    Isaiah 58:11

    .

"And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."   KJV

    .

I feel that God just reached down and touched my heart today.  I have been feeling like in a drought and kept pressing on and was hoping for something to sooth my soul.   I see this blessing of transforming my mind as such a gift from the Lord.  Thank you God.

I plan to take some pics of my garden this morning and come back and update this post.   Well it won't be untill this evening or I will just tack it onto my Weekly Wrap Up because my Handsome has the camera at work, lol.

    .

    Blessings and ((HUGS))

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play! If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents. The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them be." ...Charlotte Mason

Oh, thank you! I hope this is not too much work for you. And, in response to your lovely post, I was reminded that I need to find satisfaction in Him and not my surroundings. I posted something on Rockyridge about that and you have to be logged in to read it. :-)

I'm so glad to read this. I know you were feeling discouraged. How wonderful to know that God supplied the encouragement you needed. Can't wait to see your garden spot.

I love this post! My time in the garden is so important because I can be alone with my thoughts and I really see the Lord through the cycles of nature.
I love the idea of creating a more inviting space and have always wanted to do it. I want to make a bird bath out of terra cotta pots. I do keep a low dish of water in the butterfly garden for the butterflies.
I am adding the book to my wish list!

What a blessing to hear how the Lord is showing you things in your life.

I've missed you too, and should start calling more. I had things to finish this week, so maybe next. If not, just know you are on my heart. :)

Yea! I am glad you decided to carry on with S&T. I guess my thanks can go to God for that - great testimony, Mary. If you're interested, I just posted my original testimony a few days ago.
By the level of participation, there are several ladies who enjoy this Friday get-together.
    Thanks.
