Jun. 25, 2009~ Show and Tell Friday ~ Look What Bloomed ! ~
.
I have to show you what God surprised me with this week in my garden. I wasn't even the first to discover it. Handsome my hubby found it and asked me if I saw it. I have a old wagon filled with Hens and Chicks catus plants. I have only had it for a couple of years now and it has filled up the wagon and is desperately needing to be thinned out. But something very special happened.... one bloomed ! I didn't know it could. I knew some catus' bloomed but I didn't know these did.
.
I am very proud of my picture. I am hoping over the next year to take my picture taking to a new level. I love anything that has a creative and has a artistic twist. Taking pictures is for sure one of them. If anyone has hung around my blog long enough they will find out how I almost don't feel like it is a complete post without a picture in it. So .... here it is.
,
Now if you want to join us in the fun of Show and Tell Friday just....
. ~Make a Show and Tell Post and make sure it is wholesome. It can be pretty much what ever you want to share. It could be about you ...or your family ....or what is going on in your homeschooling.
~Some how link me ( Mary @ Raising 4 Godly Men or Canadagirl ) so others will know where to go to join S&T.

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
How pretty! I didn't know that hens and chickens would survive winter months. Do yours stay outside all year round?
Blessings, Karen
p.s. Hope you are feeling better. (-:
I am not a gardener. Every plant I try to grow seems to die at the touch of my brown thumb. So I enjoy your posts about gardening. Very nice surprise for you!
Our hike was not really in the area where Christy was, but kind of close depending on what you consider close;) Our hike was in VA. Christy was set in East TN (near Newport), so probably only about a 2-3 hour drive.
I did not have time today to post a S&T :-( but did find time now to come for a visit! I love the bloom! I have these hens & chicks, too...I love their "history," they are from Europe and were originally used in thatched roofs! Can you just picture them??? So sweet!
Have a blessed day!
Love in Christ,
Lori aka "Plans4You"
You asked, "How goes it?" I had to laugh when I saw that. I didn't know if you were asking to be polite or if you REALLY wanted to know.
The reason I laughed is that I had a doozy of a morning. You know the kind...you wake up to something that makes you grumpy and you claw your way out of your grumpiness over several hours. Anyways, I'll post about it, but probably not until Monday, when I may even be able to laugh at the pictures that help explain it.
Hi, Mary
It's a great picture, it really takes patience to wait for these to blossom! I'm working the night shift this week, so I wasn't able to play S&T - but, hopefully, next week!
The plants looks beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen one in bloom either. I know my mother-in-law has Hens and Chicks plant and so far it hasn't bloomed yet.
First , I am a daughter of the King almighty and a
