It's that time a week again....
.
I have been wanting to show you all better idea of were I have been spending a lot of time this time of year....in the garden. I have tried to show a sample of what we are growing and a over all of what our garden looks like. This is a garden that is shared by us and my MIL. We also have some WWOOF'ers helping. ( Willing Workers On Organic Farms) I am going to be the first to say that it is not manicured but nice. They say that you can tell how healthy the soil is by the weeds. So that means we have real good soil then. [0;
.
I have learned a lot again this year and will keep learning as I go and observe. The Charlotte Mason Method isn't just for kids. I am no master gardener and I am narrating to you what I am learning as I go.
.
One thing I have recently learned.
.
We planted a bunch of basil this year. We planted globe basil that is good for fresh or in pesto and another that is good for drying. I had them on one side of the straw bale raised bed and noticed they looked real puny. So, I moved the plant containers to the end of the raised bed where they could get a lot more sun and wow they just took off. Plus this week it was hot and sunny and I am sure that made a world of difference. You will see a lot of plants that are tied up in the slide show with string and they are plants we are letting go to seed for seed saving. I hope you enjoy my slide show as much as I enjoyed putting it together. [0=

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
