From the Heart:
.
Hi there,
I know I have been in survival mode on my blog the last bit. There are waves of real business around here. I have been tying up seed plants, doing aphid control, harvesting herbs, raspberries, currents, WEEDING, and watering like you cannot believe. But amongst all this I have been trying to keep the house a managable level of cleanliness. Some days better than another. These are times that I just keep moving forward and try not to dweal too much on what needs to get done. Other wise I get overwhelmed and just feel like sitting and not do anything.
.
On the Homefront:
.
August 4th we are going to court with our friendly neighbor about the water easement. I am praying that it will be finished and pray that it all comes together. We will not be able to have the permenant system in till next year so we get to make do again this winter. I think tomorrow we will start getting the hardy plank ( cement board that looks like wood) and the stucco get going to finish the outside siding this week. It needs to be done before August 1st or our insurance goes up. Other than that we are plugging away in the garden and enjoying the beach a lot.
.
Life of Learning:
.
I NEED to get us back to reading more. I need to get the boys reading to me and me reading to them again. Life on the homestead kind of took over and I need to get things back on track. I had goals of having the boys work through Christian Manhood and I never got it going. I am going to correct that starting in two weeks. I am going to carry on with Canadian History and Geography this year. We were moving slow this last year and have lots to still learn. I am hoping to be better this year at sharing what we are doing and learning too.
In The Garden:
.
This is raspberry season ! Picking and freezing for making jam when the cool days come. The Transparent Apple tree is getting closer to being ready to pick. Last year I canned around 70 quarts of apple sause. I hope that my MIL will want to can some this year. It was a lot of canning last year. I still have some from last year and plus I still have zucchinni pickles from last year too. Maybe that will make this years work not so much. ((praying))
.
In The Craft Corner:
.
Ohhhh I am learning and doing so much right now ! I have several knitting projects on the go
-socks
-baby booties
-scarves
-Girlfriend Market Bag
Plus I am beading up a storm of anklets and beaded bookmarks made for the store that sells my stuff. Plus I still need to make the bookmarks that I promised two blogging buddies. (life sure gets away from me)
.
Annnnnd I am starting to make the specialty candle molds that I have been want to make. I got the stuff to make them finally ! I will share soon as I have them made. You will have to wait till I know it is a success. [0=

In the Kitchen:
.
Keeping up with feeding my family and not trying anything new at this time. I am making chocolate zuccchinni bread tonight. Every loves it !
.
There is the reflections and ramblings for this week.
"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
I'll swap you a cupcake for the choc. zuchinni bread! I will be praying for you when you go back to court. Friday is a good time for a ring, ring. My husband will be at church until very late.

Thanks so much for stopping by this morning. Your words were very wise regarding the dating and the courtship. Obviously, I have much reading and praying to do. Speaking of which, none of my own reading goals were completed this summer, and the youngest and I have all but stopped reading Laura Ingall's Wilder's The Long Winter. I wanted to be finished by the end of the school year so that we could move on to other things. I also had some personal reading, both for fun and for my own education, that I wanted to read. With about 1-1/2 weeks left until school officially begins for us, it is just not going to happen. So, I give myself a break and move forward to the next thing. I would offer you to do the same after not reading to your boys as much as you wanted--you've certainly not been idle!
I don't suppose you'd ship some of those raspberries and cherries down to Texas, would you? (smile)
Added the court date to my prayer list....I do pray that it all comes to an end and the favor of God will shine on you like it has never done before. I want God to show up in court and show out!!!!! You make me tired with all the gardening stuff. You amaze me!!! I admire you and your hard work!!
Be blessed sweet friend!!
Chasity
Oh and I would LOVE choc zucc bread....had the regular kind, but never choc..YUMMY (in fact have some shredded in my freezer right now for bread in the off season)
whoa, you are one busy mama! How do you do it all?! I'd like ot taste your raspberries.....yum we have a berry patch a few miles away that we enjoy picking fresh berries from. this is the first year we planted them in our garden, of course no berries this year, but maybe in the next year or two.....thats blackberries and raspberries, oh and grapes! but we do have strawberries, every year.
And i love your craft...you always have something up your craft sleeve. I need a craft room.
Hi Mary. Instead of teaching (the hard way) to a right-brained child, how would you like to CURE the brain? If you do not have evidence that this is an inherited condition, then assume it is developmental--happened at a birth trauma or high fever or not crawling or something. These developmental cases can be cured. See the appendix in my book "A Biblical Home Education." It's easy.
First , I am a daughter of the King almighty and a
a wife to my Handsome of 19 years. A mom of 4 on the go boys 17, 15, 11, and 9. I grew up in the states but married my Canadian sweetheart and moved up north.
We live in the southern part of British Columbia , Canada on our homestead. We have homeschooled our four boys from birth and plan to go the distance till all four graduate from our homeschool. I teach with a Charlotte Mason style. I love to craft! I am a beader, knitter, x-stitcher, quilter. We have been on a journey of being apart of building "The House that God Built". I have been recording our journey on my blog. Go to my links on The House That God Built and you will find it. I know God has a lot more instore for us and we just need to follow where our Lord takes us.
This blog is the home of Show and Tell Friday's and Tightwad Tuesdays. I hope you decide to join in on the fun !
Blessings and ((HUGS))
