Giving Some Home Grown Gifts
.
There is something very rewarding and satisfying about growning herbs and drying them for yourself and also for gift giving. You can make all kinds of spice blends too or bag them just by themselves. Either way they are such a treat for those who love to cook . They are very light weight too and that means they are extreamly light and don't cost much to mail.
Now go ahead link and read and comment on all these other's wonderful TWT's.
.
Lets save our pennies, nickles, dimes, and dollars together !
.
"There are only a few big ways to save money but there are many small ways ....that all adds up."
"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
Thank you for reminding me to get going on our herbs. We have a few mints ready to dry, as well as lots of thyme. We use our neighbor's dehydrator, and they will soon be back from holidays and wanting it themselves.
I am always so amazed by your production! Inspires me! I need to plant more. I do save mint and basil. Lost the lemon balm. So much rain it went to seed. I cut it back and am hoping for a baby crop before fall. The leaves got rust. I spent over an hour yesterday cutting out blackberry vines that had taken over a portion of the front garden. Not sure where they came from! Birds I guess. I have another hour at least to get it all. Lots of spiders and bees to deal with.
I love seeing what you do and how you preseve it all. HUGs
I'd be embarassed for you to see my only herb plant right now. It is a poor, sad, little basil. But you have a great idea for those who have the touch!
