"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
    Joshua 1:9

    .

....but at the same token I feel I'm suppose to hold onto last years verse too.

    .

" This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look: ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls."

     Jeremiah 6:16

    .

...The second verse has encouraged me to get back to my Charlotte Mason roots to teach what I should and stop trying to do too many things that can be done in a few.

    .

For example... copywork and narration covers ALL kinds of grammer skills and we can encorperate our intrests and focused subjects while we do it.

    .

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play! If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents. The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them be." ...Charlotte Mason

I am so trying to get to this post...( for our school). God has really given me so much these past few weeks and it is all good. Doesn't it feel great to put it down on paper!? Your plans look fabulous. So together and ready to go!
I have read some of the books on Canada that are on your list! I think being a PNW native we studied alot of canadian history in school. At least the "native" history. My foster family was also from Sascachawan ( not at all spelled correctly!!!!) and all they talked about was that area.
I have some exciting ( at least to me) stuff to share on crafts too. Its gonna be a good year! Its gonna be fun to share what we learn and the kids learn. I always learn so much each year.
I love the verse. It is so true and a life line when the going gets tough. HUGs

Your history book list looks a lot like mine! I plan to post about our curriculum choices in the next week or so.

As far as what I bought from CurrClick: a couple of lapbooks, one on the 2010 Olympics(saving ti for Feb) and a Hockey lapbook for my son(hopefully to tie into Canada studies!), they also have some Canadian resources and I bought one for my younger ones.
It's so easy just to download things and print them when you need them!

I'm looking forward to a good school year with some new projects to do!

Funny, we both are in the same stage. I wish summer can be stretched a little bit more longer so I don't need to do the homeschool scheduling. Ha!ha! I know it's just a dream. But who am I to complain. You have more things in your plate than I do. I praise the Lord that He is the one who enable us to do what we need to do. I do not need to complain I just have to tackle the job one step at a time, as it comes without complaining.

I love your Charlotte Mason saying. Sometimes I do that. I find myself able to face the world if I take a few minutes to just do what I want to do, something fun and silly, then I am in good mood to tackle the serious stuff.

    I have to go! TTYL

    Love you lots,
    Flora

Very good plan! Wish I could send my kids to you for Canadian History Class. You have a lot of good resources. And it looks like we will be doing some of the same math this year with our similar aged sons. Praise God for MUS.
