Aug. 21, 2009~ Interrupting My Bloggy Break ~
I needed a bit of fun to break up all the work I am doing and have some fun with a quiz. I saw this over at my friend Lynn aka Eclectic Education's blog. I am still plugging away at all I have to get done. I am thinking that I will be able to come back next week almost as usual. (probably limited visits but I will keep checking my cbox) I will be posting my meme's and visit some. I am also planning to take time to join in on Weekly Wrap Up tomorrow too.
"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
I took the quiz! It was fun! Go check it out. For a born and raised pacific northwest gal I'd say I lost my roots somewhere!
I gathered seeds this morning ( zinnia and wildflower). Thought of you! I love saving seeds. Sure would love to learn from you in person how you do it! Its obvious how to do the big headed stuff but I fail with my herbs and smaller flowers. When my oldest left for college with his bride he gave me his seed box...full to the top with seeds he had gathered over the years. Made me cry! I am planting most of them next year. It will be interesting to see how well the seeds fared...they are mostly marigold! He collected them when he was 10 -14. Back when he had his own garden. They are all neatly packaged in jewelry ziplock bags. ( the small ones)
