Aug. 24, 2009~ Got a curve ball this week ~
.
My oldest ds Philip was flown to Childrens Hostpital yesterday afternoon. He has not been feeling well for a couple of weeks and had no appitite. But Friday he started getting nose bleeds, Sat. he coughed up blood, late Sat./early Sunday he had blood blisters in his mouth. Handsome rushed him off to emergency and by 1pm the hostpital flew him and Handsome to Childrens Hostpital in Vancover.
.
His body is attacking his blood plateletes. A person normally has over 300 count but he had almost 0 yesterday. They gave him platelettes before he was taken to the coast but his body by that night had attacked them and he had none. Last night they were giving him blood protien to try to trick his body so it wouldn't attack the platelettes. I have not heard anything yet this morning.
.
Yesterday family and friends gathered around us if it be in person or in prayer chains. I cannot thank you enough for all the notes of encouragement. I have been having small bouts of weepiness but over all I am doing well in spirits. We can feel all the prayer and it has been such strength. I am sooooooo very thankful that I am a Christian and I can lean on my God and know that all is in His hands and that God is in control of the curve ball that we have gotten. I have seen God's hand in all the good care that has been sooooo good. Philip has not lacked in care at all. The doctors and nurses have been top notch and a gift.
.
I am just tired from all the waves of emotions. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
.
Update
I have been updated that the doctors are leaning towards that is mono and are giving treatments to bring up his platelettes count up. They will know more tomorrow from the tests. Please keep praying that the treatments keep going well.
"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I checked for updates on and off all day yesterday. I even left kids with hubby yesterday, so I could get away and pray for several things, including Phillip. I felt the urge to pray for him several times yesterday. I am so glad that is just mono. My eyes are teary as I read the wonderful news.
Be blessed,
Chasity
Father, in the name of Jesus, please heal this boy. Please give the doctors knowledge from you as to what to do to get him well. Please strengthen mom and family with your strength, physically and emotionally. Please put your angels around this boy and give him comfort in Jesus name.
Oh my! We are praying that all will be aright. I know this must be a scary time for all of you. I hope that you are all reunited very soon and that your son feels better.
Blessings,
Dawn
I will keep him in my prayers all week; I was so happy to see your post and update, yet I know you will not be at ease until the diagnosis of mono is 100% certain, and he is home and out of these woods and back into your own home-woods!
God Bless you and keep you, dear one!

Mary, please know that you are not alone in this vigil - your home educating, Christian sisters are with you every moment of every hour, praying for you and your family. God has His loving hand wrapped around you all, and you will come through this in His good time, with His good purpose.
I left a big comment in your cbox, but also am writing here to give you a notice that you got a comment. I am praying for Philip and all of you. My heart is there in Canada...
Oh dear, I'm so sorry, but glad to read the update that it might be mono. I pray you will have an answer soon. Call me if you need to talk, anytime.
JoAnn
Good Morning Sweetie. My prayers and thoughts are with you -- the update sure is good news that it isn't more serious. I had no idea that mono could behave in that way - how scary. Yes, it is soooo good to serve a Big God Who Hears and Sees (((BIG HUGS)))
I'm so sorry to hear about how sick your son is. I hope the doctors will be able to get to the bottom of it and help him to feel better quickly.
I'm sorry I did not come by sooner, but am glad I know now to pray, thanks for letting me know what was going on.
I pray for God's peace and comfort for you and that you will be able to see His hand throughout this trial and know that He will use it all for your good and His glory. Keep leaning on Him. He is good always.
Let us know how things are going soon.
In His Love,
Marla
Hi Sweetie
I put Philip on our prayer chain at church and also on the Homeschool Lounge. They are awesome prayer warriors.
