"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
Love the pictures! Looks so fall-like, and I love the colors of fall. (Can't wear those colors because they don't look good on me, but love them, all the same.)
:-)
So pretty!!!!! I love seeing all of the produce. ( and know just how much work it all is!)
How do you store it all? Here we cannot winter any of the pumpkins or squash as it is too humid, I would have to can or freeze every bit of it. I tryed wintering stuff over in our coal basement...it was a sad experiment to say the least!
Pumpkins make me want to make my pumpkin/chocolate chip bread! Its almost that time.
Good Morning, Mary! Photos of last-year's harvest are allowed! We know you've been stretched this month :-)
What is the tea-colored liquid in the glass canning jars?
Have a wonderful, RESTFUL weekend...I pray Philip is continuing to feel well and rejuvenated! All that good, fresh food will be healing for him! Your work in your harvest and in preserving all of it is soooooo good for your family!
What a busy little ant you've been, Mary - you should be so proud! I know it's exhausting, but it's the way God intended we should take care of ourselves, and you're doing it. Aside from that, it all looks so pretty! :) Great job!
Wow! I am sooo coveting the spoils from your garden. I haven't posted on it yet, but I ended up giving over my garden to the raccoons and deer. There was nothing that deterred them from eating pretty much everything this year.
I guess I will just live vicariously through your garden blessings!
What a beautiful bounty, Mary! You are a very hard worker. I hope you can get a little rest soon! I also hope that Phillip is doing well.
(((hugs)))
