Monday I was picking one of our apple trees and it came to me what I could share this week for TWT. The tip this week in how I save money while making oatmeal cookies.
.
This idea came to me originally because of my 2ds allergies to raisins. I use small dried apple chuncks instead of raisins in my baking when recipes call for raisins. If you have access to a dehydrator you can make apple bits for very little cost compaired to buying dried apples. And then it is a big and tasty way to replace the cost of raisins. When I make apple oatmeal cookies I also add about 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the cookie dough. It makes the cookies taste real good.
.
Also last week my sister shared with me that a good and easy way to make your cookies soft is to add a tablespoon of molasses to your cookie dough.

"There are only a few big ways to save money but there are many small ways ....that all adds up."
"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
