Oct. 29, 2009~ Show And Tell Friday ~ Swimming, Birthdays, and Snow ! ~
.
.
Homeschool Swimming lessons are one of the biggest highlights of our school year. At our local aquatic center they have accomidated us homeschoolers twice a year and organized a chance to get all our kids in their levels to learn how two swim within a two hour slot. That is huge for a homeschool mama and what a blessing that is. This year I only have my two littles in swimming lessons and the two boys are both in the same level too. That is great for me because they can have fun and learn together and we have been going a hour and a half early for them to have fun in the open swim too. Gotta get the biggest bang for my our time. While they are having fun in the water I am ....sitting and loving every minute while knit. Ohhhh how I am enjoying this time.
.
I have two October babies. I didn't get pic's of my oldest's b-day b/c he was not with us for his b-day. But I did get a pic of Luke and his birthday cake. I cannot believe I have a 17yo and 15yo. Boy do they grow up fast ! I also had to sneak in a pic of what it looked like this week when it snowed. It has been snowing and melting several times in the last few weeks. It won't be long before it decides to stay for the winter.
.
Now, if you want to join us in the fun of Show and Tell Friday just....
. ~Make a Show and Tell Post and make sure it is wholesome. It can be pretty much what ever you want to share. It could be about you ...or your family ....or what is going on in your homeschooling.

"If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!
If she would have the courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in
a picture gallery looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.
The mother would then be able to hold herself in "wise passiveness’ and would not fret her children by continual interference even of hand or eye - she would let them
be." ...Charlotte Mason
I remember swimming lessons and time to crochet ( thats what I learned while the kids swam!) It was a great time for us moms to chat and the toddlers to play.
I do not have any under "teen" age anymore! Hard to believe they are all so grown up.
SNOW! Its suppose to be in the high 70s here today. So wishing for the cold to settle in and stay awhile. Want to be indoors and doing winter stuff.
Hi, Mary! I love the pool pictures! I always found the best part of winter swimming lessons for ME (not swimming, but just hanging out) was coming in from the snowy cold and spending an hour in the warm humid air of the aquatic center. Like being in the tropics for an hour each week! Not that the tropics smell of chlorine, mind you, but you know what I mean!
I know how you feel about the boys getting older so fast. Nathan just turned 16 in September, and Bryan will be 18 in February. He's been asking questions about what elections are coming up in 2010 that he can vote in...
Whew, it DOES go by so fast!!! Have a blessed week this week!
