Redo my initial entry

Hi,

I am new to this blogging thing! I just read my very first entry and thought it sounded so blund and not friendly! Anyway, my DH and I are very excited about starting this HS thing with our kiddo's. Shane, our son, will be 9 in June and our daughter Lauren just turned 5. I have a very strong Christian faith and the Lord is the biggest thing in our lives. I am feeling led to do this by God for our family. Never have I felt the urge more strongly than now to corral my children and be the primary influence in their life. I am tired of the so called "socialization" they get from public schools. I realize that there are good people who go to PS but I also feel like the PS are raising my children and I am not liking that one bit. I work full time as a registered nurse (3 days per week, 12 hour shifts) so I have the time and Lord to I have the determination. I have found wonderful support in my community for HS. I will actually start HS in June so my son will finish 2nd grade in PS. I am about to have surgery so I did not want to initiate anything this big at this time. I am THRILLED to have found this blog. I have read some very interesting things and think this will be a wonderful support for our family! I look forward to "meeting" many of you and sharing our journey's together!

In His Name,

Cindy

Curriculum Chosen!

For our curriculum, we have decided to go with Alpha Omega's LIFEPAC. I like the way it was organized and being a first time home schooler, I need the support of a well defined curriculum. I looked at A Beka, Sonlight, and many others but this was the most appealing to me. Shane will be finishing up 2nd grade at PS then the HS begins. Lauren will never know PS as she just turned 5.
