Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus

Posted in Holiday Times

Come, Thou long expected Jesus,
born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us;
Let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel's strength and consolation
Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear desire of every nation
Joy of every longing heart.
Born Thy people to deliver,
born a child and yet a King
Born to reign in us forever
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring.
By Thing own eternal spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone
By Thine all sufficient merit
Raise us to Thy glrorious throne.
As Christmas is coming in 1 week, let us pray that He would come quickly. We anxiously await His birthday, but we also long for His second coming. I think with every year that I get "older" and the more struggles I experience, the more heartache I see around me, a world filled with such pain and self-absorption...my prayer becomes stronger and stronger - Come quickly, Lord Jesus, come quickly. The words to this old Christmas carol are such a beautiful prayer for this time of year...Jesus, born to set us free! Free from our sins and fears! Thank You, Jesus! Let us find our rest, peace and joy in Him alone!

Hi Candace!

I just realized that you had a blog too when you left the comment on ours. :-) I am so excited to be able to "see" you and your precious children! They are so beautiful Candace- as are you! It was fun to read about the party at the Opryland Hotel- we used to live in West TN and enjoyed a trip to Nashville once. I would love to go back to the Opryland hotel sometime. It's so beautiful there! Can I add your blog to my favorites on mine so I can check in often?
