We have had such a fun day! It started with our Happy Birthday, America party this morning! We joined Valerie and her boys and Melissa and her kiddos for our celebration. We made patriotic wands to wave at our parade and had little flags...we marched up and down our street telling a few neighbors - Happy July 4th! We came back and painted on a big sheet outside for fun! We loved this craft and did it again tonight at Melissa's house! Then, we read a story about a little girl whose daddy is deployed and are working on boxes to send to soldiers in Iraq. We need to finish our box tomorrow. After the story, we had a red, white and blue snack - strawberries, ice cream and blueberries on top! And we found hidden stars around the yard! School doesn't get much better than this!
This evening we ate dinner with Nana and Papa at their house...mommy's favorite - grilled hamburgers! And to end our fun day, we watched fireworks at Uncle Robert and Aunt Melissa's house and then some more at the dock here in town.
Happy Birthday, America! And thank you to each family out there that is serving our country - past and present. I thank God for you and your family's sacrifice!
