Will you be my VALENTINE?

Posted in Holiday Times

We are starting our Valentine unit today! I had the table all set up with all our goodies for making cards, our books to read and some decorations!

Here are our school plans for Valentine's Day!

The Valentine Bears - we will be doing this unit from homeschool share

Books to read

The Valentine Bears

Saint Valentine

I Love You With All My Hearts (Daughter): The Many Ways a Mother Loves Her Daughter

Valentine's Day: Stories and Poems

Activities and Crafts

Hidden hearts - cut out a bunch of construction paper hearts and hide around the room or house...find all the hearts! (I don't know about you, but my kids LOVE finding things that I have hidden! I'm sure this will be a hit!)

Candy conversation heart math - this will be a lot of fun - playing, counting, adding, subtracting and EATING the candy conversation hearts!

Of course in this house we are all about crafts and card-making...so we will probably spend a few days working on our valentine cards to hand out!

I'd like to have a Valentine Tea party at some point...and read some poems from the Valentine's Day Poems and Stories book. Maybe we will have all things RED to eat and drink.

Review our memory work of 1 Corinthians 13 ~~ we memorized this last February and have reviewed a few times...but it will probably take a little work to get it all back in our  minds. I would also like to find a craft to go with this verse.

Print the John 3:16 Valentine for the girls to fill in and read

We will be doing some of these books are well. I love the idea of hiding hearts to find. I'm going to borrow this one. ;-)

Great ideas. We are having a V-Day party here next week. I think I'll borrow the find-the-hearts idea. They always love those hide-n-seek sort of games.
