With the new found interest in our bird watching I have wanted to take advantage of the girls excitement for the birds. I wanted us to look a little bit more in depthly at some of the birds we have at our home. So, I chose the black-capped chickadee to start with! We have had quite a few of these at our feeder! They are cute little fellows!
So, I checked out a book from the library specifically on the black-capped chickadee. Then, I found this excellent coloring book of birds you can download onto your computer. We will color this page and answer the questions together. The girls will also try and draw a black-capped chickadee in their nature journals!
Hopefully we will be able to learn a little bit more about a few of the birds we see so frequently in our yard! I happen to think it is so neat to have all this wonderful science right in our back yard!
