3:16 the Numbers of Hope

I would like to extend a personal invitation (as personal as my blog gets!) to anyone in the local area reading this...join us, next Sunday evening at 6pm, for the program 3:16. There will be some pre-worship music and videos starting at 5:30pm.

I want to invite you to this program not because I am singing in it, or because the music is good...but because the songs have been such an encouragement to me. And I pray that all who come will receive that same encouragement, hope and faith in Jesus Christ.  I have mentioned this before, but will tell you again...I have sung in choir programs for years. This one is my all time favorite. For the simple fact that sometimes we all need that reminder that Jesus died for me. And, it gets better...He is not only my Savior, but my friend.

On the lifeway site, here it what it says about this program, which was written based on the book by Max Lucado.

"Three simple numbers and 26 words from the Book of John are one of the most famous passages of Scripture in the Bible. And in a dark world where numbers such as 9/11 can dredge up feelings of despair, 3:16 becomes a set of numbers that offer hope. When beloved pastor and prolific author Max Lucado realized that Palm Sunday 2008 would bear the same three numbers on the calendar as the "Hope Diamond" of Scripture, he began a massive effort to spread its message to millions through a word-by-word study of John 3:16 in his book 3:16 The Numbers of Hope."

A twenty-six-word parade of hope: beginning with God, ending

with life, and urging us to do the same. Brief enough to write

on a napkin or memorize in a moment, yet solid enough to

weather two thousand years of storms and questions. If you

know nothing of the Bible, start here. If you know everything in

the Bible, return here. We all need the reminder. The heart of the

human problem is the heart of the human. And God’s treatment

is prescribed in John 3:16.

He loves.

He gave.

We believe.

We live.

- Max Lucado

I wish that Ray and I could come to your presentation. It sounds like it is going to be great. I loved how the words of John 3:16 were used to make a cross. I would love to have one made out of wood to hang on my wall. I will be praying
II Chronicles 5:13 for you all. Wouldn't it be awesome if that happened? It could happen....all things are possible with God! :) Love, Sherry
