My kids really love to take speed drills.  It seems to make math much more fun for them.  They are always asking me if I have speed drills ready for them.  They like it when I make up the drills, but they would rather have someone else time them.  It seems that it doesn't matter if I'm timing them for ten minutes or simply one minute, my mind seems to think it can move on to something else.  The next thing I hear is, "Mom, is time up yet?"  "Oops, it was up five minutes ago." ;D
