We are starting week 6. I can't believe how fast it is going. We started a bit early since we are going to have lots of interrutions this fall. I hope you have a great start to the year.

Our school year is completely different this year since I was forced to join the workforce after 13 years at home. DD did a few subjects over the summer so that once we "officially" started in August, she wouldn't have a full load to do while I was at work.
I was really concerned about how it would go, but so far, it's been pretty smooth. She has been forced to step it up a bit and be more independent. Last year, she still wanted me right there beside her. I kept telling her that she was old enough to do some things on her own. Now she is finding out that she really can do things w/o me being right there all the time. When she does get stuck, she knows to set it aside until I get home, and I will help her.
Her dad has even become more involved in the schooling, trying to help her when I'm not there, so going back to work has been good for more reasons that just getting the bills paid. :-)
I am an extremely happy wife and mama to eleven children. That's not a typo, I really said eleven. I'm 38 years old. I've been homeschooling since 1993. WOW! We have had three children graduate.
Since our youngest hasn't been born yet, it looks like I will be here for awhile.
Our newest edition is due January 4, 2008!
