Dear Journal,

     Today was the Cadet Pinewood Derby Race.   Previously, I've made a toy car out of wood.  Then, I painted it, and put the wheels on it.  There are four places in speed and best of show.  My car went so fast that when my mom tried to take a picture, all we could see of it was a blur.  At the last race, I was racing against a car that looked like a shark.  He beat me a few times.  When they handed out the awards, I got second place for speed.  Then, I raced against the shark car again.  And I beat him!  Then my car was in the championship race and won!  The Grand Championship Award is a huge, gold trophy.
