Sunday, December 17, 2006 - Controversial Christmas Decoration
Here I thought I was *so* clever making this little reindeer... only to find that it is a source of controversy around our dinner table... some think it is cute (mainly, me ) and others (pretty much everyone else ) thinks it is disgusting. Oh well. You can't please them all.
I am threatening to save the whole turkey carcass next Thanksgiving, boil it clean, wire it back together, and paint the whole skeleton hot pink for use as a centerpiece. Now, that could really stir up the masses.
Oh, yes, it was the masses who built the gingerbread house with one wall continuously collapsing inward. Very sad.
My kids would love this! In fact, I'll show it to them in the morning and let you know how much they loved it!
Did you ever soak the wishbone in vinegar to make it rubbery? Speaking of rubbery, one of my 4 year old's favorite toys is a rubber chicken. She made up her own rubber chicken dance with it.
I love your creation. The Grinch would be proud!

My kids like it! Marina thought the wishbone deer was cute and Chase thought it was funny. Sierra laughed. She also thought it was funny!

...but I would probably have to side with "the masses" on this one! Have you ever read "The Far Side" by Gary Larson? I think he'd appreciate this! ;-)
I think that the reindeer is so cute! You should make some more animals like that (although you will have to eat a lot of turkeys to get that many wishbones)!
