Sunday, February 25, 2007 - Monday Morning Coming Again

I remember back in my child psych class some thing they used to do with babies where they had a visual cliff to see if the baby would crawl off what appeared to be the edge or be cautious. It looks like it was just a depth perception test and most babies 6 to 14 months would not go across the acrylic to their mommas. But every now and then one would and our prof called that the "Geronimo" baby. I seem to remember the prof thought society needs a certain percentage of Geronimo people.

I am not a Geronimo anything. I won't even walk near the railing at the mall.

That is why I hate Sunday nights. I feel like I need to take a deep breath, dive into the week, and hold my breath underwater until all the lessons are completed, paperwork filed away, and next week lined up on Friday night.

And some weeks promise to be belly smackers.

Yeah, I think more "Geronimo" people would be a good thing. I happen to know a few myself though. ^_^

It's about a Geronimo person.
I remembered this experiment from my psych classes as well. If the baby experienced a fall after he was 6 months, the memory created fear of walking over the edge. The Geronimo babies either never had this experience or had really bad memories. I think I'm in the latter category. Although after falling from my hubby's shoulders I do have a healthy respect for heights. :o)
