Although Phil promised an early spring, it has not happened around here till just this weekend. While many people notice subtle signs of spring such as birdsong or flowers peeping through the frozen ground, I wait for incontrovertible evidence of warmer weather.
Saturday at Wal*Mart, my heart soared as I saw the parking lot now filled with pallets of peat moss, paving bricks, and bougainvillea.
And then this arrival of Spring was confirmed during the pastoral prayer Sunday morning by the ripping sound of motorcycles headed down the highway, the harbinger of disrupted prayers for the next six months or so.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't worry about your belated visit. I haven't posted a blog entry in ages! Which is typical for me, but still... I've enjoyed catching up on your last 5-7 blog entries, and as for this latest one, I must say I'm guilty of being one of the "subtle signs of spring" people. This past week as I've been out, my heart, eyes and ears have rejoiced at the sight of thousands of wild daffodils and sounds of twitterpated birds. You wouldn't have enjoyed the brisk walk I took this morning (I know I didn't)! I immediately regretted leaving my gloves behind. But it's coming.... Spring in Scotland!! :-)
