I hereby give warning to any mothers considering starting classical education with their young children: if you do not want to have (very) weird children on your hand RUN the other direction.
This afternoon I was getting dinner supplies out of the fridge and dropped the pancake syrup. I asked Miss Language (who happened to be nearby) if she wanted any syrup. And in response, she starts paraphrasing Kierkegaard... "I stick my feet into the syrup: it sticks of stickiness..." (I stick my finger into existence and it smells of nothing...)
We get similar sorts of weirdness around here occasionally, and we're not really "classical". We do like literature and words and such, and methinks that might be the problem. Though I have to admit that no one at my house has been heard quoting Keirkegaard... yet.
Love it! I get all kinds of quotes every day. I haven't gotten that one yet, though. I guess we just watch too much Beakman and StarWars in our free time...and read too many odd passages in the Bible unsupervised. (See my blog for more info on that.) :'P
Yes, they are weird. They are, however, much better than I expected them to be. *grin*
But it's not just the education classification. *LOL*
I'm getting my own batch of weirdness around here -- and my brother would say that it's genetic. We're a potato head family - we use this and that for our school :-)
