In honor of our dear friend Emma who recently won a Cowboy Contest with her poem, The Revenge of Jane , I have decided to show you my cheek-reddening (at least for me,anyway) song about a cowboy's life on the ranch.
Let me explain to you why I wrote this song: I wrote this song because my online English class threatened to tie me up and throw me out on the train tracks if I refused to create this song. (OK, maybe not, but the results would be just as devastating if I didn't create the song!) They also required me to use 'cowboy' words such as 'buttermilk', 'calico' and 'get along, little doggies' to give the song more of a 'cowboyish feel' to it. (I think they also told me that these phrases will come in handy when and if I decide to loot the bank. )
Without further ado, I now present to you my masterpiece, "A Cowboy's Life"
Jed was a wrangler,
A coyote strangler;
He was a rustler,
He knew how to hustle!
A grand forty-niner;
And always got the drop;
He had a big fifty,
That made him look nifty.
A friend of the buttermilk,
And a friend of the posse,
He knew how to take charge,
Even if he was bossy!
CHORUS:
He was a buckaroo,
And loved his red-eye!
He was a buckaroo,
And had cash in one’s six shooter.
He enjoyed shindigs,
With the calicoes,
He enjoyed shindigs,
And dancing on his toes!
He loved to chuck,
Whiskey, lard, and bread;
He loved to chuck,
He enjoyed doing these things on his homestead.
He had a cookie mean and tall;
This mean ole cookie, could fix it all.
(Repeat chorus)

Yikes! That is far away, well it's Saturday, and we are leaving on monday. I don't think it will work.:(
That's too bad though, I would have loved to meet you. But on the bright side, this won't be the last time were in FL! I think if we plan ahead my parents might say yes!!!:D It's not much of a bright side, but thats the best
i could think of. ;)
