Oct. 13, 2005 - Speech
Well right now I am waiting for my mom to get off the computer I use for everything. This is Erin's that I'm using right now.
Well when mom gets off I have to look up more information for my speech. I came across an encyclopedia page about "Bloody Sunday." I'd heard of it before but never actually checked all the details. In 1972, Derry (Londonderry), a protest was going on over internmant, or illegal inprisonment practiced by British governament officers in Ulster. To make a very long story short the Irish did not prevoke what happened. Oh, and what happened, you ask? 14 unarmed Irish men and boys were shot to death, numerous others wounded. There was no provocation, and no resistence. Even protestent witnesses confirm the indiscriminate shootings the riled british slodiers carried out. Including taking deliberate aim at a running unarmed boy and shooting him down. All the details can be looked up on a non-biased encylcopedia and you can see for yourself what happened.
On a lighter note I am also waiting to finish...well waiting to start a story that is due tuesday (no school monday) on two battles of the french and indian war.
