I got to thinking it had been a couple of days since I posted my 15 minute goal for the day. It was never my intention to post something every day, as our lives are never the same from day-to-day, and you just have to enjoy the day you're given, but it is my intention to hit at least 4 days out of 7, and since I don't generally think I'll be doing them on the weekends, I'd better get typing, lol!
All this to say, here's my 15 For Today: Being that today's Tuesday, and thus library and lessons day, I'm going to spend 15 minutes during one of the boys' lessons to make a list of all the things my husband needs to take with him when he goes out of town next week. This is Mo Chroi's first out-of-town trip without us (since we left the Army), and his first for this company. There are many things I don't want to forget to purchase, and he's going to be taking a cooler with him so I need a grocery list as well.
What will you be doing today for 15 minutes? Let us know!!

One of my fellow bloggers who has taken up the 15 For Today for herself is tiredmom. To see pictures of her 15 minute accomplishment from yesterday, click here. I think the pictures are so inspiring, and I so enjoy seeing the fruits of others' labors. It looks great!
Today my 15 minutes are going to be spent clearing off my desk. I am far too embarrassed to show before and after pictures, so imaginations must be called into play. Is your desk a magnet for stacking as well, or is there another area that you cringe at every time your eyes light upon it? Let me know ~ we've begun a mutual admiration society regarding each others' hard work, and we'd love to cheer you on, too!!
Have a magically wonderful weekend!

In the spirit of simplifying my life (see following post), my 15 For Today is going to be to spend 15 minutes thinking about what aspect of my life I can change to cause a positive affect on my home, my family, and my mental well-being. What can be dropped? What can be changed? Let me know how and what you're doing.
May you find peace within yourselves.

My 15 For Today is going to be cleaning out my purse. Getting rid of those receipts that are so important that I keep but never so much as glance at again. Usually when the boys are taking their lessons, I read, but today I'm going to take 15 minutes to clean out my purse. What will you do? Let me know!!

Good Morning, and welcome to Monday! I hope your weekend went well; ours certainly did!
I have a confession to make: I'm NOT the world's best housekeeper (gasp!). I mean, I'm not a pig or anything, but I could do better. My house is always neat and usually picked up, and gets vacuumed regularly. So what's the problem? Welllllll..... I'm a habitual stacker/ignorer. You know. I'm one of those people that stacks things I don't know what to do with, and then ignores said stack for ages. Until it either drives me crazy, or drives me out of my home. I'm sure you know someone like that. Maybe you even ARE someone like that!! If so, take a deep breath, and chant softly, "I am not alone, I am NOT alone!"
So, over the weekend, I'm looking at my stacks, and wondering if I'll ever really be rid of them all at the same time (oh, bliss!), when FlyLady's voice pops into my head (I love her, but she surely shows up at the most uninspiring times) and says: It only takes 15 minutes. You can do anything for 15 minutes! And then the lightbulb goes off! I CAN do anything for 15 minutes! I don't just want to do horrid things for 15 minutes, though, I want to do fun things, too! The kinds of things that I never allow myself to do because the stacks are waiting!!
SO, I decided to begin with facing/enjoying one 15 minute challenge each day. That's it. Not 15 minutes this hour, and then 15 minutes next hour and so on, just 15 minutes ONCE each day. I can do that, right? Right. So can you. If you'd like. Right along with me! How much fun would that be? And they're challenges, not from me to you, but from me to me. Humps to be gotten over and conquered, so I can release some of that anxious energy I automatically get when I look at a stack or unfinished project.
So what I'm thinking is this: I'll post one 15 minute challenge a day that I'm going to face/enjoy. And you can either do it along with me if the mood strikes you, or, if inspiration calls you, do your own 15 minute challenge, and then tell me about it or post it on your blog (letting me know you're doing it, of course, so I can be inspired as well!).
With that in mind, here is today's challenge: to answer an email that has been sitting in my in-box for three weeks now. I know, that sounds kind of weird, but some emails require such a lengthy, personal response that takes a lot out of a body, and so I've been putting it off. But no more! No time like the present, so here I go! In honor of it being the first day of the 15 For Today, I am going to reward myself with a second 15-minute challenge: to sit down with a cup of tea this afternoon and read my book ~ Guilt Free.
