Overheard from the Schoolroom...
Posted in Educational Pursuits

Yesterday Grandma dropped by and came in for some fresh-brewed iced tea, during which the boys were still working on their geography study of Arizona. She started quizzing them on their knowledge thus far, and the following conversation then took place:
Grandma: What's the state bird?
Piper: The Cactus Wren.
Grandma: What's the state flower?
Piper: The Saguaro Cactus Blossom.
Grandma: What's the state gem?
Piper: Ummmmmm....
Jigger: I know, Grandma!!! It's the YMCA!!!
It's important to note that tea coming out your nose stains just as well as tea spilling out of your cup.

Let's hope Grandma has a sense of humor and was already a staunch fan of homeschooling.

Ha, ha! Gotta love that answer! God bless grandparents (hey, it's nearly Grandparents' Day as I recall) and grandparents that support homeschooling.

Hi Shani, Thank you for stopping by our blog! This week WA's weather has been fantastic and I'm so glad we were able to enjoy it as homeschoolers.
I guess while some homeschoolers were busy starting school part of our school was getting back to blogging. I've had those days/weeks when I'm stumped to find a blog post. Later, I think of something. Your post is perfect and very encouraging with the great deals you found and the lovely end results.
I haven't seen a ribbon board before. I've heard of them from another homeschool mom though. It and the table runners turned out very lovely. We get those JoAnn's 40% coupons too. It's nice when I can use them.
Kudos on your personalized blog design too. I like the warm peach color. Dd and I have been picking interior colors for the home we are having built. We've sure started paying attention to colors more due to that. It's been fun. You are very creative and it shows wonderfully. Thank you for sharing.
In Him,
Marie
