Show and Tell Friday...
Posted in Show and Tell Friday

Welcome back to this installment of Show and Tell Friday with Canadagirl. If you would like to join us in our fun, please do go visit our hostess Mary for more information.
I have been working on Christmas gifts for awhile now, and this past Monday evening I finished one that has taken me far longer than I originally thought it would. Mostly because I kept putting it down and walking away from it (really, who wants to crochet when it's 115° out??), but it still feels like I've been working on it forever and a day.
No longer, however. My mother-in-law's afghan is finished (except for the final stray yarn tucking), and I've already begun a new Christmas gift project. Here is my mother-in-law's present:

I love crocheting, and have only learned how to do it in the last 10 months. This is my third afghan. My boys are hinting that they should each be getting one soon....

It is beautiful. I hope your MIL does not read your blog...she will see her present. I learned how to sew only about 1 and 1/2 years ago and I would love to learn how to knit next.
Thanks for sharing!!
I love getting to chat with you all tonight!! It was fun.
Be blessed,
Chasity

Nicely done! What a beautiful afghan! You have certainly worked hard on that - and you've only been crocheting for such a short time. Terrific!
My computer wouldn't load the bottom picture. I hope the next project goes as well but perhaps goes a bit quicker!
Have a good week!

That is a labor of love, indeed. I admire people who can do that with yarn.

Oh, wow! That afghan is gorgeous. What a lucky mother in law you have to receive this gift for Christmas! 115 degrees! Yikes!
I used to make afghans; I used to do a LOT of things I don't do now. New seasons, new interests I guess.
So, what's your next massive craft project? :-)

How lovely!
My dd is learning to knit and I have a friend who's trying to get me into it too. What is the difference between crocheting and knitting? Is it the needles or the stitches? or both?

It's lovely! I know what you mean about not wanting to work on something like this when it's so hot. I started a quilt for my youngest and just can't get motivated to get it finished in this weather.
