Show and Tell Friday...

Happy Friday everyone, and welcome back to Show and Tell Fridays with Canadagirl. If you would like to share a memory with us, we'd love to read about it, so please go visit my dear friend Mary to get started.
Last weekend I participated in Cindy Rushton's Talk-A-Latte seminar. While listening, and in between sporadic chatting, I finished up my newest afghan. I went through almost three skeins during the two-day conference, and celebrated with the gals at the end of Saturday when I tied it off. They requested a photo, and so I immediately thought, "There's my Show and Tell post!" lol
So, without further ado, here is the afghan I made for my grandmother for Christmas during the TAL seminar. It is the same as the previous afghan I made, which means it is a lap afghan. I did 10 rows of single stitch, 10 rows of double stitch, and repeated. I ended with 10 rows of single stich. This took 5 full skeins, plus a little out of a 6th to finish the last 3 1/2 rows.
To these gift boxes, I will add a loaf of homemade wheat bread, a jar of homemade apple jelly, and cookies. These gifts are essentially complete, with only the foodstuffs to add at the last moment. This makes the third completed gift I have made, and this eases quite a bit of worry from my mind, I can tell you. Is anyone else working on Christmas gifts? I'd love to see/read what you're working on!

OMGosh you are quick. I am very very slow at crochet but I do love doing it. The afgan is very pretty! I love it. What an awesome gift.

I will post soon! I am knitting the last square for my neices blanket!!! (finally) and then I have to embroider them, sew them together, and crochet the border on! All before flying out for Christmas and in the midst of moving house! Yikes! I better get going!

Yes, I'm working on my christmas 'gifts' as well. Mine is a calendar with pics from my family throughout the year. I can't show anything yet 'cuz I haven't compiled it together yet. I have just one more month of pics to get, then I will.

Okay, I know you can stretch, but man how do you do it? Chat, listen, take notes, and crochet, all the while supervising your family. I had a pastor once who told us that he knew evolution was a lie, because if it were true each time a woman had another baby she would grow another arm. hehehe Great work, I have a weekend patern for afghans if you are interested, using 4 strands at one time.

I always make candy to give as gifts for the holidays, but your beautiful work is inspiring me to do more. I'm not very crafty, so not sure how it will turn out though.

It sounds like you have it together for Christmas. That sounds like a really nice, personal gift.
I would really love to learn to knit and crochet competently. I suppose it just takes a lot of practice. :)
