Happiest at Home...

Tour of our Trailer (hopefully it's not as boring as it sounds)....

Posted in Show and Tell Friday

Today I thought I'd take you on a little tour of our trailer.  I was actually asked awhile ago to hear a little about when we lived in our trailer when we first moved to Arizona.  I'm happy to take you through it, and hope you enjoy the tour.

Anywho, here is our trailer, ready to hit the road.  Just looking at it makes me want to drive forever, but I digress.

Here is our living/dining area.  They are both part of what's called a 'slide-out,' which means that a section of the trailer actually slides out away from the trailer so your room in the trailer is expanded.  You can also see the 'bar' and stools of the kitchen in this shot.  And the location of the bathroom (door left of center) and the pantry (to the right of the bathroom).  Hey, it's a trailer.  It's not like we travel by bus like my folks, lol, and have separate rooms.

Here's the kitchen, and you can also see the boys' bunks to the right.  They have a door, strangely enough, at the foot of their bunks, which is lovely for fresh air circulation when the weather is cooperating.  The door is to accomodate storage, as the bottom bunk picks up and you can slide bikes and larger items in there.  We don't use it for that, but love the door there all the same.  And yes, that is a microwave, large fridge, and oven you see.  *blush*  Guess our idea of 'roughing it' isn't so rough, lol.  But we're not as bad as my parents, who have a washer/dryer in theirs.  So there.

Here is the bathroom, complete with a mini-bathtub.  Yup, yup.

Finally, here's our bedroom:

My dad is shop boss at a trailer sales and service company and one of the things my daughter and I love to do and tour the big trailers on his lot. Your trailer is definately a home away from home! In the next few hours, we are headed for some camping, too - only we utilize the tent instead. Thanks for the tour - it wasn't boring at all!

I can see why you feel like driving forever.
I love campers - we've rented them in the past and their fun to travel in. Your camper is very nice!

I am back from vacation now. However, still relaxing this Sat. night. I thought I would spend a little time catching up with my dear bloggy friends. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the trailer. REALLY!!! I want one so bad. I am one of those weird homeschoolers that would love to live on the road. Learn it then see it. In my wildest dreams, we would be a mobile family, hubby preaching all over the place and me schooling the kids, ahhhh that would be the life. Maybe someday (:o). I hope you had a great week.
Be blessed,
Chasity

Sep. 19, 2009 - Feeling the green...

Not money, envy :-) I would love a camper/trailer! But we do have a lovely tent (we call it "the condo...it IS huge!) in which we comfortable fit our 4 big cots, 2 shelving units (6 cubbies per shelf), and a little bedside nightstand in the middle of the cots for our lantern, books, etc. We splurged last summer on a little portable potty for in the tent (you know you're getting old when you put a potty in your tent cuz you have to get up at night to piddle!). #1's ONLY...#2, you gotta walk to the latrines! <BLUSH...such personal stuff!>

Thanks for the tour! Someday let's share camping recipes! In July I made wonderful campfire eclairs...so yummy!

God Bless,
Lori (aka Plans4You)

Your tour was worth the wait! I could look at RVs all day long!!! We certainly are in the market, but it will be another year before we can save enough to get the right one and still be debt free, which is our main goal. Do you have any plans to go camping soon?

Hi Shani,
You must have drafted this, and posted later. I missed this post in my "friends latest posts" link. Guess I had better get with the times and start using a feed, eh?
Your lovely little home on the road is almost identical to the one we lived in with three small children for two and a half years. Only we didn't have a slide-out, and we SURE didn't have that door at the foot of the bunks -- whoever thought of that was a genius. Imagine putting a bike under there from inside the trailer! LOL! Oh yes, it was so much fun. And one other thing, I don't believe I EVER saw mine that clean, not even the day we bought it. It held almost all of our worldly possessions. Ah yes, those were the days. I kind of miss them...
Thanks for sharing with us!
