Knights Becoming and a Lady in Waiting

She Has a Name

The new addition to our family isn't settling in so well.  The poor rat is lurking inside the empty Fudgsicle box (I just knew those Fudgsicles would come in handy for something more than backside padding), hiding from the world.  While Sally (the alpha-female rat) has been living it up, her new roommate won't even come out for bits of fresh lettuce or broccoli. 

All this leads up to the name that Prince Derryboy (2DS4) came up with for her.  Please give an appropriate moment of silence as I proudly introduce:  Miss Heidi.

See, PD named her "Miss Hidey," but Mommy heard a girl's name and wrote "Miss Heidi."  As PD doesn't quite read yet, he didn't notice the difference.  It wasn't until later, when I asked him why he chose that name, that I realized my error.

"She's always hiding in that box.  Miss Hidey."

Oops.

I should have known, of course.  This is the son who has nicknamed himself "Captain Featherboy."  This is the son who's Neopet is named Juggor (pronounced JUG-wore).  I do believe he sees the world through a very interesting pair of sunglasses most days.  I usually think of my oldest DS as the creative one, but it's this second son who is most likely to toss in something totally off-the-wall to make me smile.

Miss Heidi, Miss Hidey.  I guess we'll work out the proper spelling when he starts reading on his own.
