I had a whole entry blogged on our first day of Summer Camp yesterday, but to continue with our meltdown series... it disappeared before I submitted or saved.

I'm going to go cry.   I'll try again later.

Summer Camp at Camp Ineedtonameityet

Kris Price has this cool idea of summer camp.  Well, her idea is a little different than mine, but it's similar, so I'm still going with it.  Her camp is to change some bad habits to good and to get some things done that she's been putting off.

My camp is to actually have fun with my kids.  I'm a critical, focused, planning type (yes, yes, borderline-OCD would probably apply).  I forget to play with my kids.  It's easy to do when you're a task person, not a people-person.

So we're starting camp tomorrow.  We brainstormed together as a family and Mondays will be Make-It Mondays.  We'll do crafts and cooking, plus we'll learn about our missionary for the week from the country we're studying.

Tuesdays are Traveling Tuesdays: learning about our country of the week, taking a field trip, hiking... as long as it fits into the traveling theme.

Wednesdays are Work n Weed Wednesdays (hey, I had to fit in the chores somewhere!).  We'll clean the house in two 30-minute shifts, work on our garden and yard, and spend 30 minutes focusing on just one room to get it cleaned out and organized.  NO computers or TVs on Wednesdays for anyone, so don't look for new posts. :)

Thursdays are Thankful Thinking Thursdays.  Math drills, Bible drills, spelling bees, country projects... and one thank-you a piece to someone at random.

Fridays are Family Fridays.  We're trying to come up with something fun that follows our country theme to do as a family.  I don't have one yet for this week, but I'm working on it!

Saturdays are Science Saturdays.  We don't do enough hands-on science at our house (hey, my two-year-old eats the components of the experiments!), so we're doing them on Saturdays when Daddy is here to do them.

Sundays are Slow-Down Sundays when we rest up for the next week.

I'll make a separate post about what camp will be this week. :)
