Swimming with Moko the wild dolphin

Moko The Dolphin

Moko The three-year-old dolphin has made Mahia Beach it's home since it first came to the region during Easter 2007.

Many a bodyboard, crayfish buoy and rugby ball have been taken out to sea, never to be seen again, as the cheeky dolphin continues to play on her own.

Others have been on the receiving end of Moko's generosity, said Department of Conservation programme manager Jamie Quirk.

"He/She (Not sure what sex yet), has actually been bringing fish to people. People have had kahawai and gurnard brought to them and some lucky people have had her bring them seahorses," he said.

My sister lives in Nuhaka/Mahia & Moko as brought them live Kahawai then they have been out water skiing or weight boarding.

Chelsea & her friend Emma plus me & Mum plus two dogs drove the 3 hour trip to Mahia on 10 April until 16 April as it was easter/school holidays.

All but Grandma & the 2 dogs went swimming with Moko the girls went Kayaking too.

lucky for us we all manged to fit into wet-suits of my sister.

Chelsea platelet count is 140.

Going into Feb 09

We had a great January. Went on Holiday with Grandma for 10 days to some beaches. Then on the way home mum & I dropped Chelsea's off at her dads so she could have 2 weeks with him.

Chelsea turned 11 on the 22nd Jan so we had a party with afew friends at a place  called Maize Maze.

As you can tell by the name it is a huge paddock that they grow maze & made it into a business by cutting tracks into the maze so you could find your way out.  IT is fun they even have a scary show at night time where people dress up & scare you as you are in the maze trying to find your way out. I have never been brave it to try the night one yet as I just don't like been scared at all.

Chelsea goes back to school on the 2nd Feb.

A new school & all as she is in grade 7 (we call it intermediate school here in NZ but also known as Middle school or junior high school)
