Jan. 21, 2008 - Jamestown
Sorry I haven't posted in a long time
. I want to tell you some things I read about Jamestown. Jamestown was the first permanent settlement Virginia. The settlers from England hit land on April 26, 1607. From the ships they saw forests taller and thicker than any in England. There were grapevines, raspberry bushes, and giant strawberry plants everywhere. There were traces of opossum, raccoon, deer, bear, beaver, and muskrat in the woods. To people that had lived on ship food for several weeks shellfish was as valuable as gems.
