... but busy all the same.
Our busy day today (full details on my homestead blog) ended sadly with Boo falling off her pony and hurting her arm. She has sat with ice on it all evening, taken Calpol, and Arnica tablets, and we have rubbed in the gel, but she is a sad little girl!
I shall be glad to get the horses over here. It's been a long slog, we are close now to getting them here, and then maybe we can get them sorted out.
Considering doing Parelli Level One as a school subject with H this year - has anyone done that? Treated something like the Parelli Homestudy Course as a school course? Any advice?

I hope she is doing better by now. I hope nothing is broken besides her spirits.
YES, we include Parelli I as part of our schooling (you probably guessed that). We had borrowed the dvd's from a neighbor a couple of years ago and watched them all, but made the mistake of not going out and trying the horsey games with our horses as we went. (A big mistake). So then I returned the dvds and couldn't remember all that we should be doing. Now I own the Level 1 package (cheaper if you wait until their Christmas sale). I recommend watching a little, then going out and trying it right away, and keep alternating watching/doing throughout. We try to do what we can, unfortunately much of our school year is in the dead of winter when it's too cold & icy (or too deep of snow) to work with the horses. And now, it's way too hot! I guess fall & spring are our best horsey times. But yes, I even have Parelli written in as part of our girl's Physical Education course. Both horses are almost ready to graduate out of level I and move to level 2. I just love how it has made our horses sooo much safer and easier to work with. Oh, and if you go to the big Parelli Tour, they have a lot of drawings where you may win even a whole Level 1, 2, and 3 Package (wouldn't that be fun). Pat Parelli is so generous.
