My oldest has been bugging us for a ferret, cute, but stinky. I remember when I was in 6th grade an a lady visited school with one and we all learned that they can spray like a skunk... With all the critters we have I am sure the poor thing would get sprayed out in a day! So my husband and I told her that we would think about it and do some research. Well last week we gave her the OK to start her search, you can descent a ferret!

 

She found one on craigslist that sounded OK it was older than she wanted, but it was healthy and descented! Plus for mom. So off to the pet store we go to check on the pricing of cages. We walk into our local pet store and what do we find... baby ferrets that are less money than the older one on craigslist. Double plus they are up to date on shots, neutered and discented! I bet you can guess where this is going... yep Jack Sparrow joined our family at 3 months 11 days old!

 

But here is the twist to my tail. My husband is with youngest child and they are looking at rats! Yep you guessed it again 'ole we have too many critters dad, is helping his daughter pick out a 6 week old rat! He is really cute and the prettiest shade of blue grey! She named him Jared out of the Spiderwick books.

 

So much for my DH saying "I have to go to the pet store with you guy to keep you from getting any more critters" LOL Not only did we come home with one more critter thanks to him we came home with two!!
