Groan of the day: What do pigs write with? Pig-pens! Hahaha….wow that was funny

CD Review Newsboys: Go B+
Genre: Pop/Rock
Songs: 11
"Wherever we are, that's where the parties at." Though the newsboys have been around for 22 years, they still can't speak English. Maybe because they are Australians, or maybe because they read my blog too much. At any rate, after 22 years, the newsboys have hardly mastered their craft.
The CD starts out strong, with four bouncy rock/disco/pop songs all with a good message excepting the first which is about….very little. The CD quickly descends into a mire of praise/pop that floats just above average, thanks to the dance influenced low key riffs, and the lovable accent.
Lyrically the CD tries to stay on a missionary theme. "Go, from the top of the world to the bottom rung. 'Till the work is done. I wanna send you." The title track proclaims, taking the point of view of God.
The last song is amazingly similar to the U2 song "Windows In The Sky". So similar that if I were not so nice, I would say they ripped of the U2 song. But hey, who better to rip off?
The CD will have you singing along and tapping your toes…not to mention putting on fake Australian accents. Still, I expected more from the veteran band that gave us "He Reigns".
