Joke/s

Quote of the day: “Religion often gets in the way of God” Bono

Groan of the day: What is the fastest fruit? A man-go!

Hey K: Yeah I am not an only child. I am the oldest child though lol

As I say every Saturday: Go check out homeschoolbloger.com/switchfoot! I put up the video to “Chem 6a”

Well today is joke day…but you guys will decide if I have posted a joke or not. I got a review on homeschoolgold.net that I want you guys to agree with or disagree with it:

Edit: i just found out that someone (not me) erased this review.

“I would not recommend this site to anyone. I would describe this blog with these words: carnal, lukewarm-Christian, a waste of blog space, and WARNING. Chris has made 3 major statements that do not, in any respect, line up with the Bible. He believes in "coexistence" which lines up with what the Anti-Christ will do when he offers "world peace", Chris believes that homosexuality is not a sin, and he believes Christianity is corrupt - and because of him (saying he's a Christian) I do too! Funny how his name means "follower of Christ". The sad thing is... that he has so many teens reading his blog and he is spewing this crap out - when he could be using his blog to be the brightest light for Jesus they may ever get. Pray for him and his readership... Come quickly Lord Jesus! Come quickly. JND”

If it so moves you, feel free to go to homeschoolgold.net and leave me a review.

All I have to say in response to the review is:

1. All i said was that if you are a homosexual you need help, not hate. Having an attraction ot the same sex is a problem, but not a sin in itself.

2.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

LOL

Hey the new song of the week is up! It is from the new crossover artist, Jon Mclaughlin. The song is called “Beautiful Disaster” and even though it is sappy…I love it :)

And ok. One joke:

There was once a very disliked conductor of an orchestra. One day during a performance, the symbolist had had enough, so he banged his two symbols together in a quite part of the song. Everyone stopped playing. The conductor turned red and began to shout: “Who did that?! Who did that!!”

If you didn’t get it…read it again lol

Have a great weekend!

Well, I was going to give you the award, but I thought you might get offended so I didn't lol.
Lol, I didn't get youre joke until the third time reading it...then I cracked up laughing. I LOVE corney jokes. Theyre so funny.
As for the person who "reviewed" you, I don't know if all those things he said about you are true, and I'm NO expert in Christian attitude, but he said what he said in such a hateful, judgeing way, that I HIGHLY doubt he is even a christian himself, and if he is he has a seriouse problem.
Just out of curiousity, Why did you draw a mustach on the picture of yourself?

Hey Chris!
About the review, I disagree with it. I'm still not quite sure about your stand on the subject of homosexuality, and about what you said about the coexist thing, but still I think that whoever wrote that review was wrong. From your writing I can tell that you love God and that you want to follow Him. Even if I (or someone else) disagree with some things that you say on your blog I can still tell that. And they should not have said that about you and your blog.

Anywho...yeah. I don't get the joke. I will show it to my parents, and then maybe they can explain it to me (they're way smarter than me!!).

Hey Chris!
I was just buzzing around HSB today and stopped by your site and saw where someone had given you a less than flattering review. If you don't mind my sharing something with you, I will pass on some of the greatest advice I ever received when I began my writing career:

"Develop a thick skin."

Yep, that's it--short and to the point, but I kept it in mind and still do today, and I pray always that I will not be "easily offended." I have received criticism and bad reviews in my life, and it's just part of the job! At least you know that people are reading what you write, and they are thinking, and hey, praying for you! That's wonderful, really, when you think about it.

God is growing you and He will use this in your life, and I know that you know that already, but sometimes it just helps to hear it. God is using the gifts He's given you and He has a great adventure planned for your life. You are well on your way. Keep your focus on Him, and don't forget to "Dig Deep!" LOL

My little sermon for the year

well first off I don't agree with what that person said! I might not completely agree with everything you say or believe either but I don't let that bother me. This person was making it seem like you are trying to throw your ideas down peoples throat and your not. You say what you believe and if people disagree then you don't make a big deal about it. My dad has told me this a couple of times and it's truly a wise thought. We as christians are supposed to strive for UNITY not separation. Whether we agree on everything or not we are to become like one in Christ. We are a body. EVERYONE is needed. We are to look past what we disagree on and focus on what we do agree on. So many times people pray that the OTHER person will change his/her mind and "get right with God" when what we should be praying is that whether you are wrong or if I'm wrong that whatever is TRUE will reveal itself for both of us. Whatever God's will is that that is what will dominate. We focus too much on what is wrong with the other person. We need to focus on what's wrong with ourselves. Too much we feel that it's our responsiblity to correct everything wrong with other people. If we have a problem it says in the Bible that we are to go to that person(in person or PM or whatever) if we feel that God lead us to and tell them that we feel that they are in the wrong. If they refuse to except that then we just need to let God take care of it. We don't need to tell everyone around and spread rumors about it. If we feel that they are putting other people in ''danger" then we don't need to take care of it. I mean come on people, what is God now not big enough to take care of us and other people as well. I mean was it not the same God that brought the Israelites out of Egypt and the same God that ROSE HIS SON FROM THE DEAD! I ask you can HE not take care of the people you feel are in "danger" of being lead in the wrong direction.
Ok I'm sorry I don't mean to preach. I'll stop now. Hope it helps!

Gee, Chris, if I had known you weren't worried about people seeing the review, I wouldn't have had Mr. Carlton remove it.

but, yes, I did, Chris. I wrote it.
I am so sorry I was so mean and rash, but I truly disagree with what you post on your blog.

Your stance on homosexuality does not line up with the Bible and neither does your stance on "coexisting". As I said, this is what the Anit Christ will do when he offers "world peace" during the tribulation. To agree with 'coexisting' is to promote other religions and that is wrong.

I wanted to warn other teens not to go to your blog because you do promote secular ideas but with a "Christian label". I put the reivew on there as a WARNING because I don't other teens to think that what you say lines up with the Bible.

It makes me angry that you call yourself a Christian when what you write and believe does not line up with the Word of the Creator, God. That is why I said this blog is "lukewarm-Christian". I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. It was unintentional, and I know what it feels like, and I should have taken that into consideration before I opened my mouth - er - fingers.

Just know that if you're going to write the things you do, then you are going to get some bad feedback on it. It is not just me who feels this way about you and your blog. There are many teens and adults who thoroughly disagree with you. Mr. Carlton (owner of Homeschoolgold) said that he saw my review, and almost removed it, but he let it stand after visiting your site.

I am truly sorry for being so harsh and terribly mean, but that is what I believe. I hope you will forgive me. I did leave you another review.

In HIM alone,
Jocelyn Dixon

Chris,

I have to say I agree with a lot of what the review said but I strongly disagree with how it was written. It was written in a very hateful way. It could have been said in a less judgemental way.....the Lord says in Matthew 7: 1 - 3 (KJV)

1Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Mete in verse two means; to give out something such as punishment or justice, especially in a way that seems harsh or unfair (Microsoft® Encarta® 2006. © 1993-2005 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.)

Now, I do not know if she meant for it to come across that way but she probably should have written it and come back a day or two later to read it and make sure of what it sounded like. But, I do want to "practice what I preach" so I don't want to judge her on any level.

Anyway, that's my two cents worth. I do like reading your blog, it makes me think about what I believe (since it is contrary to what you do) and to have to find ways to back it up.

Later,

E

P.S. I don't get the joke.....care to explain?

Hello Chris, my name is Paul. I’ve left a comment on you blog before. I would like to respond to three major beliefs (or propositions) you have shared.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would pull your bible out, for I am going to be addressing several verses. It is important that you look up every one of these verses. I pray that you’ll read this with a clear mind and actually consider the fact that you might be wrong.

1. The co-existence issue
2. The flawed Christianity issue
3. The homosexual is not a sin issue

I’ve brought all of this to my dad and he has help me come up with a these responses.

First, off, the co-existence issue – you said that:

“It shows symbols from many different forms of worship including Islam, Judaism, Shinto, and Christianity. It is a symbol popularized by U2. It is a call for members of all creeds to live together in peace and harmony. In other words, to "Coexist". I believe one day this will happen, and I plan to do my part to make it happen.”

As I think about this, Chris, you may be right. All of these religions may very well co-exist in harmony someday. However, the Christianity that would co-exist with all of these other religions in harmony would be an apostate form of true Christianity. In other words, true Christianity could never – and will never – co-exist in harmony with the others. You have to realize, Chris, that all the other religions deny the Lordship of Jesus Christ as described in the Protestant bible you claim to believe in. Jesus Christ and His disciples (those who wrote the New Testament) emphatically claimed that Jesus Himself was the only way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father but through Jesus Christ (Jn 14:6).

Point two, Chris, is the flawed Christianity issue. You said that:

“I believe that Christianity as a religion, is deeply corrupt and flawed.”

I’m not quite sure what you mean by your statement but here are my thoughts on your remarks. Biblically, or from God’s perspective, God does not view Christianity as a religion – He views it simply as the Truth. Now if you mean that “Christiandom” (or the Christian community) has its flaws or is corrupt, then I can agree with you to some extent here.

Issue number three, Chris, is the homosexuality issue. You said that:

“I believe that being gay is not a sin, but that being a practicing gay is a sin.”

Here are my thoughts on this: You are wrong on the first count but correct on the second. Being gay is a sinful state of existence. It’s a corrupt state of existence. It is a state of existence that is the direct result of the fall recorded in Genesis chapter 3.

One more thought to keep in mind: no where in the bible does God’s word ever make the kind of distinction that your above statement has made, separating the state of being gay as opposed to the practice of being gay (condoning one and condemning the other).

<MARQUEE>I wrote a larger version of this comment as a post on my blog and I greatly urge you to go and read it.

These are big issues. Although my blog entry may look the same as this comment don’t just browse over it! It is very important that you read the blog entry thoroughly!</MARQUEE>

I have to say, I agree with the three points made in the review. You and I already discussed one of them.

I think there is something to be learned by the parties involved here. Mainly, I think when we are blogging about spiritual/doctrinal issues, we should be absolutely sure that we can back our beliefs up with Scripture. It really doesn't matter what our personal views are on such issues, it matters what God has to say in His word about those issues.

On the other hand, when we are offended by something another person has posted (regardless of the issue) we should confront that person in love.

As I've read through several HSB blogs, it's become obvious that there is a lot of tit for tat going on between offended parties. This is very sad, especially since some of those individuals are adults who should be setting the example.

That's my two cents. See you later.

Jenna ; )

Hey Chris. I'm back from camp. Looks like you've been having a tough week. Thats bites. So heres my 2 cents:

I personally do not agree with your take on homosexuality. I believe that it's a sin. However, i in no way think your blog is ''carnal, lukewarm'', or whatever else Jocelyn said about it. I enjoy your blog, and occasionally i disagree with some of your stances on certain issues, but I do not feel the need to trash talk other people by giving nasty reviews. Thats definatly not a christian review, in my opinion, so much for ''they will know we are christians by the love we have for each other''. I'm not in any position to know if your a christian or not Chris, but from what i've seen i believe you are. If i happen to not agree with something i don't comment about it. 'If you don't have anything nice to say, confine your comments to the weather!' from Sense ans Sensibility, by Jane Austin.....wise words. As far as coexistance, what are we supposed to do?? Kick people who believe differently out of the world. Comon people.
Neway, keep up the good work dude. You still have some loyal fans ;) Be cool.

We may not agree on every little thing but at least your in touch with the rest of the world and know how little of an impact Christians are having on the world today because of the inability of the church to flex their rigid unbibilical ancient traditions.

If that person were to say that to a non christian that thought it was ok to be a homosexual, the non-christian would probally be lost forever. That is one way to scare the pea out of lost soul!!
