Groan of the day: What do astronauts eat? Launch-meat sandwiches.
Today I am interviewing Danya Powell who is an HSB blogger (hsb.com/songwriter) and has just released her first EP!
Check it out:
1.Nice day today isn’t it?
Very lovely. :) I saw a really cool cloud.
2.What is your opinion of Jump5?
They have very talented singers.
3.Describe what your EP is like, stylistically.
That's actually a very hard question to answer. It varies from solid worship (More Than I Am) to rock (Here I Stand) to fun punk/pop. (The Speed of Dark). Its just me. It kinda shows off my personality in a whole new way. :)
4.What is your mission as a musician?
To play music. lol. I want to reach people's hearts, and get them to think. I want to relate to feelings, whether it's depressing or so happy you seem high. I want people to understand that living for Jesus is the greatest adventure, and the most fulfilling thing in this life. It's what we were meant to live for.
5.Do you hope to stay inside CCM, or one day reach a secular crowd?
I don't like labels, and I don't like limitations. So I feel that if God calls me to the secular crowd I'll go, and if He tells me to stay I'll do that too. I'd love to have a song in every genre, though. :)
6.Switchfoot or dc Talk?
Music...prolly Switchfoot. Lyrics, DCtalk.
7.You have the next ten seconds to say anything you want…
Be who you are for Christ, and don't worry about what other people label you as. :)

CD Review Showbread: Age of Reptiles B
Genre: Indie rock/alternative
Songs: 10
Showbread is an interesting to say the least. The stripped down production, and the album art will tell you that. But after you get past how stupid they seem, you can recognize some true talent.
The CD uses some very basic rock with weird lyrics and a less than par voice. But they album hold together quite well under the “reptile theme”. Consider these lyrics form the last song:
“Jesus bless the crocodiles, forgive the cobras and all the snakes. Open up your arms to carry all our mistakes.”
The CD certainly gives everyone something to chew on.
