Groan of the day: What is the easiest way to get on TV? A stool.

Quote of the day: “Jesus you know just how for the east is from the west. From one scarred hand to the other.” Casting Crowns

Yes I know I said funny pics today…but then what will I post on “My Life Tursday’s”? And yeah the pics aren’t that funny….so:

CD Review By The Tree: World On Fire C+

Genre: Rock/Worship

Songs: 12

Steven Curtis Chapman’s voice with some watered down U2 rock tunes. One problem is that SCC isn’t in the band, but I swear that if the CD said he was, I’d believe them.

The worship rock of By The Three isn’t bad. But it struggles to rise above the mush of other bands that fall under that same genre. There is nothing all that new or creative here. The CD is average, and to some it will fall as bland.

That said, an average sound is far better than a bad sound, and if you like high voiced guys with long hair that sing about God-then you have another band to add to the stack.

For Fans of: Steven Curtis Chapman, Starfield, Downhere

CD Review John Reuben: Word Of Mouth D+

Genre: Hip-hop

Songs: 10

John Reuben, the rather odd man who burst onto the Christian music scene out of nowhere with the gotee record, “Boy vs. The Cynic”. With some good hooks, a colabo with Matt Thiessen, and the backing of a label, the white rapper brought some unique hip-hop to Christian radio. Those that got the CD after hearing the radio songs were disappointed if they wanted more of what they had heard. The CD was full of average hip-hop sung by a white guy, but the lyrics showed some uncommon maturity. If only John and stopped there and saved what face he had…

In short: There has been only one other CD in my whole life that I have dreaded listening to for the second time (the last mewithoutYou disc). At least that CD could claim going for ultra-unique as their excuse for being terrible. Yes, this CD is the worst CD I have ever heard.

The whole CD can be summed up pretty quickly since almost every song fits the exact same pattern. Moody lyrics, sung in an apathetic way, with a ‘ha’ thrown in after most sentences. Rapped verses that are all at one tempo, with chorus of high voices made to sound like chipmunks in rehab. I cannot truly convey how stupid the songs are. The only things the CD can boast in catchy, child-like hooks, and lyrics that are deep. Too deep. A listen to this CD is truly a sickening experience.

For fans of: KJ-52, Manafest, Japhia Life

If you don't want that John Reuben CD, why don't you send it to me? Heh heh. I mean, I really liked his Boy vs the Cynic CD. I rather like his style, even if it is just funny to listen to his over, um, something lyrics.

Hey, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

On another note, I've posted my reply to your tag!

Yes, we can still be friends. ;)

And, I like no hair better.

And, I know what you mean about commiting to things... you can always do it whenever you have time.. it doesn't have a stop/starting date.. just do it the week you have time... I will post the assignments on the top of my blog though.

I loved that song quote. I've never heard the song though. It's a very nice thing to visualize, if you know what I mean. From one scarred hand to the other...
