Alas, I have used all the “groans of the day” I have. That being the case, the groans section of my posts are temporarily out of service.

Today is my brother Conrad’s 15th birthday!

He is a piano/violin player that has a weakness for classical music as well as hard-core music. He also eats and eats and eats…which means like all the good food is usually gone which leads to me not eating as much and saves me from getting fat. He is very skinny and I don’t know why. But yeah, he is annoying and awesome. And I admit--he is one of my best friends.

Happy bday Conrad!

Yes, and other than that…I just half like a half rant thingy:

Many people and business say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”. I am sick and tired of ppl getting mad at this display of thoughtful political correctness.  Believe it or not, Christmas is not the only holiday ppl are celebrating this time of year. Take Boxing Day for example! Possibly the world’s most underappreciated holiday. The day when  ppl celebrate…nothing. But give each other gifts to celebrate it! Tiz my fave holiday I swear :D

And…is everyone ready for a shock? Jesus was not born on Christmas. If you want to get scientific about it he wasn’t even born in the winter. The good ‘ol Catholic church decided to celebrate His birth on the 25th because it was already a pagan holiday. Happy Holiday’s indeed…

It is great to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but let’s concentrate on the holiday feelings and cheer. Not on making one day, or one holiday, the important thing.

That said…

Merry Christmas! ;)

Two days without commenting you, yeah, woops... I don't even have a decent excuse.

Anyway, yeah, I figured before I forget I should comment now, but I can't say anything about the post 'cuz I'm tired and can't say anything intelligent anyway.

But, really, it's the thought that counts, isn't it?

Yep, i could go into a lot of detail on when Jesus was born but i'll just say that since we do know that John the Baptist was born in March-April, and we know that Jesus was born six months after John, then that sets him at September-October, probably during the festival of Sukkott. (assuming that Elizabeth conceived right after she was told she was going to)

I don't even think the government can keep us safe. We're all out shooting each other and they're worried about the elctions. Yes, they can protect us from foriegn invasions somewhat, but it's always going to be "look out for number one". I know it's easier to blame the government for everything, but some of it is their fault. Like urban decay and the reason why good citizens get the sour end of the deal. I admit, I think anyone who has their ties in politics is corrupt. If their is someone out there who actually believes in the good part of the government I have yet to hear of them. And I doubt I ever will.

You're gonna have a tough time trying to prove a lot of people wrong about world peace. All the best luck to you though. :D I'll keep the radio on.

Bye-cha. Kayla.

WOOOOOOO Conrad! Please tell him happy birthday from me and my brothers, wouldya?

And yeah I am SO with you on the "Happy Holidays" thing. I work at a VERY politically correct sort of place--even Happy Holidays was being discussed as being dropped! And yet in EVERY SINGLE FRIKKIN STORE I'VE GONE INTO they say Merry Christmas! Auggghhhh!!!

*sticks head into a jar to yell some more*

Can ya tell this is a sore subject with me?

MERRY FRIKKIN CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Yeah, I agree with you on that. I don't see why we should get upset about people saying Happy Holidays, because so many are celebrated this time of year. But if they're saying that to try and take Jesus out of this time of year, that's when I don't like it. Yes, it's not His real B-day, but it's the day that we celebrate it and tell Him Thank-you for coming to save us. So yeah, I don't mind the saying "Happy Holidays", but I do mind people trying to take Christ out of CHRISTmas.
"People, all around the world, you can't spell Christmas without CHRIST!"-from the CD "Christmas on the Rock"

Well, you know my favorite holiday is on Sep. 19. But do I get mad when someone says, "Jolly Privateers Day" instead of "Happy Pirates Day?" No, I do not, because all that matters is that we are sharing the joy of the season. Arrrrrr.

Happy b-day to Conrad!!!

You serious? Wow. That's cool.

Cool post. I learned that Jesus wasn't born on Christmas day a while back. It would have been like April ot July or something. Because the sheperds wouldn't have been out in the winter. But anyway... cool post. Tell your bro I says happy B-day! Later.

Peace

No one has any idea when Jesus was born, So how can you say he wasn't born then, First of all. Second of all Holiday means Holy day. So saying happy holidays is not that different from merry Christmas. Third of all Christmas wasn't on a pagan holiday it was near a pagan holiday that was celebrated called winter Solstice the shortest day of the year around the 22 of December. This was the day chosen by the ONLY church of that time period to celebrate the birth of Christ not to bring familys together (thought it does that to) but to get people ready for the comming of our savior who is comming again. Thats about all i have to say about that. no offence or nuffin

Very to the point. :)

Yeah I was thinking about getting a tongue ring but the thought of drooling non stop for at least an hour afterwards smashed that thought. Or should I say wiped away?? hmm... idk.. :D

edit: I just realized you and I can change it from CHRISTmas to CHRISmas. ahahaha.. yeah I am an idiot.

Hey your brother is exactly 2 months younger than me. LOL The only reason I don't like it when people say Happy Holidays is because they are trying to take Christ out of CHRISTmas its self, and even if we celebrated Christmas when Jesus was really born people would still say Happy Holidays regardless of the time of year.

How ya been?? Haven't been by because I have been so busy.
Happy bday to Conrad!!
I don't think people really know that Jesus was born in like sept or oct. I really like that you shared that. It is a misconception to think that just because the Catholic church said Jesus was born on Dec. 25th, then he was.
Thanks for this post... I agree
