Crazed Daze and Other Mom Thoughts

Mass Sameness

I have been watching alot of tv lately and spending too much time online  but in doing this I have come to a scary conclusion.  Schools are trying to squash all the individuality out of our kids.  Now maybe im just slow on the uptake and blind or maybe I do live under my small town midwestern life....  but here are just a few things that have come across the tv and net....

No more recess in some schools

No more tag in those schools that have recess

No more art

No more music

Many schools Public school have dress codes... not the dress codes of my youth  and im only 33 not even the dress codes of my oldest stepsons youth and hes just 20 but you can only wear blue, black, red and white shirts and the pants all must be blue or black.

No more mohawks.... for some that may be a good thing  but wait you can tell my child how to wear his hair?

So basically nothing to set your child apart from mine.  Nothing to encourage creativity, no outlet for energy.  Yet and heres what just slays me  these people that set up all these rules are THE SAME ONES asking why do kids just sit  around and watch tv and play video games, why cant kids entertain themselves, why are kids obese.  The generations youth is being raised to think how they are told to think dress how they are told to dress and be just like the next person.... wow and I live in what country?

It sounds like its a conformist almost like semi communist enviroment. Lets not forget they also took away red rover. Isn't school part of a life time experience thats supposed to prepare them for adulthood. ITA with you
