Many exciting things happening in the Blogosphere!
Dear inhabitants of the Blogosphere,
First off, my Mom started a blog. Yay!!! You may wonder "What happened to the 'LorrainOfManyHats' blog?" Well, she decided to start fresh, and is closing the old blog, that she hadn't blogged on for well over a year. So her new blog address is at: www.TheNarrowRoadAndGate.blogspot.com Please visit her, and leave a comment!
Also, just so you know, I will probably (not for sure) be switching over to my blogger blog (www.ChristsInstrument.blogspot.com) sometime in the next month or two. So keep checking for updates on that.
I do have interesting posts coming, my life is just really full right now, so keep on the lookout for them. I'm also working on updating my blogger blog to make it really presentable, so that takes up some of my blog-ish time. :) Unfortunately, since it's the new blogger, I can't use this exact template. :( Oh well. Hopefully I can put the music picture in the background again, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, God bless you all, and I look forward to seeing you around the blogosphere...so does my Mom! :D
Sincerely,
Sheil

Just so you know...
I know I haven't posted any profound posts lately, but it's coming! We have company for a few days, and then I'll sort through all the profound topics in my head and write something. :) I will return shortly!
God bless you all, have a great rest of the summer!
Sheila
PS. Do any of you have prayer requests you'd like me to pray about? You can leave them in the comments or email me (Link to the left). I would love to lift up anything that might be on your heart in prayer. In Christ, Sheila

Volunteering and such...
Hello blogging world!
I'm sorry I haven't posted much! Very busy! I am working on a serious, 'thinky' post or two, but I just haven't been able to get around to working on them. Sorry everybody!
Anyway, here I am, so I'll let you know how life is. I'm volunteering at the local pool this week, which is really fun. I have my AWSI (Assistant Water Safety Instructor) as you know, so I am allowed to assist with lessons. It is quite interesting, and I personally think quite fun, to help with teaching these kids! Showing them how to fix something, and helping them along, and then discovering that they have fixed the problem is so very rewarding, just like teaching music. It has been an intense confidence builder for myself as well, seeing as I wasn't sure if I could spot the problems easily. Working with an experienced instructor is so awesome, and I get to learn how to judge whether they kids pass the level, and they often give me tips on how to help them and so on. It will be so great having done this so much when I finally finish all my courses and can get hired on as a lifeguard/swim teacher! Yay!
I also got my biteplate and headgear this week. (Orthodontic junk I have to have in my mouth most of the time.) The biteplate really isn't too bad, I can get used to it pretty easily, but the headgear is really annoying. It hurt a bit, and now it doesn't too much, but it's extraordinarily aggravating! I can't turn my head properly, and it's in the way of everything! Oh well, it's just for a few months, and I just have to wear it to sleep and around the house while I do school and whatnot. :)
Although everyone at the Public School (which I often just type as 'PS') won't start school for another few weeks, I'm getting back into it a bit. Not full blast, but some. I'm trying to get my Geometry cone by Christmas, which requires me to do one lesson 5 days a week until then, so I'm working through that. Then I can get going on the Algebra 2. I'm also working on Bible reading and music theory, and trying to do some piano and flute technique. *Sigh* I'm just feeling a bit tired though. My Mom and Dad have had a bit of a cold, and I think I might be getting it. Plus, my headgear is hurting my neck a bit right now (It goes behind my neck, not over my head.), so I'm feeling a bit pained. Maybe I'll be able to get more done next week. Hopefully, anyway!
So I guess there isn't a whole lot more for me to write about my life right now. I think I smell some yummy supper (Yeah, we eat late lots. :P), and I think I see some reading and candy and maybe a movie in my evening. I guess I'd better go!
Sincerely,
Sheila

Just so you know...
Hello
Sorry, should have posted before. :) All went well, she's here, and we're having a blast! :D It's so much fun doing things together, even though the weather hasn't been all that great. Thanks for your prayers, they mean a lot.
I'll be posting a post about the 'Blogger Reflection Award' that Ebell1993 awarded me in a few days. Thank you Elizabeth! :)
God bless you all,
Sheila

Our Little Miracle! Meet Peep!
So, this morning my Mom was driving back from some errands, and found a little baby birdie sitting in the middle of the road! She took him home, and we made him happy in a little cage for a while, and then we tried to let him free in the bush, but he kept trying to fly and then falling of a branch! So later we took him and put him in a safer, flatter spot. He was still 'cheep cheep-ing' then, so hopefully his Mommy found him! Here are some pictures and two videos! :)

The moment we released him...poor little guy!

In his little hamster cage!

With a twig...

The seeds he didn't eat. :)

It's like us in God's hands, isn't it?

The first time we (tried to) set him free!
(Keep in mind that I think he's cute, so my voice is, naturally, cutsie! I don't sound like that normally! :P )
In Christ,
Sheila

Ooops...
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I actually have two big posts I'm working on, but they take time. So, I guess I'll just write a little bit about what life has been like.
I started working at a local organic farm on Friday, and planted quite a lot of lettuce. :) It's a fun job, and it's lovely getting out into the bright sunshine and clear air! The lady who is my boss, I guess is a lot nicer than the lady at the place I worked last year. Similar job, different place, nicer people. I also got a hanging basket from there for my Mom for Mother's Day! It has tumbling tomatos and lettuce and a marigold, and while it doesn't look particularly beautiful now, I think it will be quite nice when the plants grow. I asked how much she wanted for it, and she just gave it to me! Very sweet lady. She was also going to give me minimum wage ($8.50 per hour) for the first little while to 'see if I was good', but decided by the end of Friday (my first day there) that she liked me enough and I did a good enough job to get $10 an hour! So, I'm really happy with that. I won't work everyday, and I'll only work maybe 4-5 hours each time, but that's enough for me right now, and it's really awesome to have a bit of money to put away.
I also began my Assistant Water Safety Instructor (AWSI) course a week ago! It was for 5 Saturdays, and I've done two, so only 3 left! It's actually tons of fun, even though it's hard work. We got to assist with some lower level classes yesterday, and that was really neat. Little children are so sweet. Mostly watching, but sometimes helping the children, I learned a lot about teaching through that 3 hour experience! We will have 8 hours of assistant teaching experience by the end of the course, too! TAfter this course I do another first aid course, (pobably in the fall) and I've already done Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross, the first two lifesaving courses, and then once I turn 16 I can get my NLS (National Lifesaving Service award) and my WSI (Water Safety Instructor award), and then I'm all set to go to be a lifeguard and swim/water safety teacher for the Canadian Red Cross! Yessss!!!! It's very exciting! I love working with kids, and helping people, and being responsible for people's safety: leadership.
So, I think that's all the exciting news I can think of, except that my cousin cut her finger off on a meat-slicer at her job at a deli. They have sewn it back on though, and I think it's going to grow back. We have yet to see whether she will have any feeling in the end of her right ring finger though. Please pray for her, it must hurt incredibly, and they didn't perscribe any pain killer, and my Grandparents gave her some codeine and she is very allergic to it. I'm not sure what she is using now.
I hope I'll hear from everyone soon!
Sheila
[EDIT: PS. Make that three posts I'm working on! Oh yeah, I'm also making the RSS feed available. I didn't know what it was before. If you want it, there it is. :) ]

Beautiful Walk in Nature!
Hello all!
I just got back from a perfecty lovely walk with my family. We got to walk through nature, see geese, ducks, baby birds, bunnies, all sorts of beautiful things! In one way I wish I'd brought my camera so I could show you, but it was also nice not to have to constantly pull out my camera, and have to stop at every opportunity. I can go back anytime, but it was lovely not having that constraint. :) Anyway, needless to say it was fabulous. The flowers are all blooming, and once we even smelled honey, but couldn't figure out where it came from. I'm actually glad of that! I've only been stung once, and lightly, and I'd like it to stay that way. :P Isn't God's creation simply spectacular? Thank you Jesus!
Blessings all,
Sheila

A full ski report...
Skiing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the first time ever, I post a pic of me...however, you can't see my face for the hat and goggles!!! No, I don't ski with my arms in the air...

Yeah, we went skiing again yesterday, and it was really fun! My Dad came with me and he hasn't skied for about 15 years! Wow! We had a lot of fun though, but he decided to stop a little earlier than me. I also had a great lesson, and got to learn how to (sort of) do moguls and I went on the intermediate runs! It was so fun!!! I wish you all could have been there!!!

So I learned tons, and evidentally I'm a natural at skiing! My instructor told me that I was doing stuff that "nobody does on their second time skiing". So, I'm pretty happy about that. :D It wasn't too cold, but it snowed most of the time. It was supposed to just be light flurries in the late afternoon, but the flurries started around 10:00 am, and got heavier as the day went on. So, we were soggy and happy and just all around had an awesome time. :D

Nobody loves me...
Why is it that people say they are going to do something with you, and then decide that something else that comes up is more important. I know someone who was going to go up to where I ride with me and her Mom, and little brother, and we were going to help out etc., as we did before, but with her Mom and little brother. I was really looking forward to it! Of course, she goes to a sleepover, and decides that 'sleeping in' and going kayaking later is more important. Good grief.
My only friend lives far away! I'd move in a second if it wasn't for...not being able to I guess. I can't even go romp around outside! There is nothing to romp around in! Gah!!!
Okay, now I've let out my steam. :P Oh yeah, I never mentioned skiing! It went fantastically!!! I learned quickly, and twas much fun! My Dad is probably going to ski with me on March 30. And, there's a slim possibility I might go this week. Muchly fun!
The day is getting on, I'd better get going. :)

Crocheting and a lonely blog!
Hello!!!
Well, guess what? I've learned to crochet, thanks to a very special friend who has spurred me on! I've only single crocheted so far, but I've been doing it quite a bit since I learned yesterday, it's starting to flow much better! I actually like it much better than knitting - it's a bit easier! :) You all must learn to crochet!!!!!
Oh yes...my blog is lonely! I've been trying to console it with my presence, but it really wants all of you guys out there! Don't let my blog be lonely! Turn the tears up there ^ to a smile! :D I posted two rather interesting entries below, and I'd really like to see them read and tiddled!
God bless,
Sheila

Family...
Hey!
Ever wonder why sometimes parts of your extended family can be the people that are the least related to you? Weird eh? Family often seems very distant, and I never see them anymore. It hurts. But hey, I have a best friend (Thankyou, friend!!!), extraordinary parents, a beautiful Christmas tree (we set it up today) and a wonderful Christmas to look forward to! 8 days left!!! :D Can you believe it? Where did the time go.
That reminds me. Have you ever wondered about other realities? Other dimensions? They say there are 11 or something, and we only know of 3 (although I think time is the 4th), and doesn't it seem strange to you that we only use some 10% of our brains? I've been thinking, and I have a funny feeling that when God created Adam in the garden, he let us understand all or most of those dimensions, and that filled our brains, but with those dimensions after sin, we probably could have hurt ourselves a lot more, and the world would have been a much more sorry place than it is. Maybe that's the answer to my dimension query. I'm writing a story that plunges into that partially...but you'll just have to wait! :D
God bless,
Sheila

Muchly exciting...
Hey! Well, yesterday I shoveled driveways and earned a total of $47.50! Not bad! My friend shoveled about 6-7 driveways and earned $100 even. I shoveled three. :) My back is a little sore today, but I'm perfectly fine! It turned out really well, because I met some nice people, and got out and got some excercise, which is never a bad thing! Fresh air and snow, it's so pretty! It's actually still snowing a bit, they said 'flurries', but this isn't flurries. This is snow. lol! It's really awesome that I got to earn a bit of money, too, because I really needed it for getting some Christmas stuff. The rest is 'mad money'! :D Anyway, I have some awesome ideas for Christmas gifts (Thanks Mariah!!!) and I think this Christmas Season is going to be just perfect. Very simple. Thankyou Lord!

Wind, Rain, and Streams
I was at my Grandparent's house recently and I went down a little path which leads to the water. In the pouring rain I took off my hat and got my hair soaked! It was really wonderful with the wind in my face and the water pouring down my cheeks. *Sigh* There was a little stream there as well, and it was - of course with all the rain - full of water. That and the roaring of the stream and the pretty water, and the rain and the wind and the golden leaves filled me with happiness. I really enjoy such things.
Just wanted to share that,
God bless,
Sheila

Life...
WARNING: I have no idea what to write about, so this may be random!!!
Church this morning was great, had a neat talk with the pastor about getting a youth bible study going. Funny thing is, the only person I could think of to give an example of who I can actually interact with and who is actually interested in digging into the word was Mariah! So Mariah, you were used as an example this morning!!! Too awesome. There are a few kids that maybe would be interested, but I'm not sure.
I went to a youth 'bible study' last night but it was not right. Too much 'Read this paragraph of stupid jokes and then "Okay Joe, please read the next paragraph." "Okay... blah blah blah" read more paragraph "Mary please read this:" Soooo, how does this verse tell us how to make decisions?'' It's right there!!!!!' Then the kids had their verses in front of them and read them over a few times: ''Um, I think I can recite it now.'' That's really great memorizing...NOT! Soooo, yeah. Needless to say, I'm not going anymore. :)
But on the other hand, I'm happy, it's a nice fall Sunday afternoon - great to relax in. So I might watch something or play a game later or whatever, we'll see,- I don't know. I'm at peace.
Sheila
PS. If you're interested in watching 'Nacho Libre', don't. I watched part of it after that odd bible study last night, and I left part way through. It's ridiculous. This was basically what happened: 'Feed orphans ugly mush, fart, go to the bathroom, wrestle, lose, feed more mush, fart again.............' Yeah. It looked like it might be alright, but I didn't enjoy it. I mostly watched my fascinating bowl of chips. They really were fascinating you know!!!

Pinging and life...
Ok,
I'm going to try 'pinging' this. :D We'll see what happens. Anyway, I
just went for a bike ride with my friend. lol we went and sang stupid
songs together. We sang like, 'The ants go marching 2 x2" and 'The
itsy bitsy spider'. So stupid! lol, but we had fun.
Oh,
and I went to a concert with flute and piano this morning, it was
awesome! It was cool too because one of the flute solos was a piece I
have already played! I was like "Yesss! I can play concert
repertoire!" Then my Mom and I went to DQ. :D
I
have to go practice, but I just want to say, that I think God heard me
and answered about whether or not to do the Counselor Leadership
Training thing this summer. I've decided no, and it worked out really
well. I'm excited about this summer, and I can't wait to see what God
will have me do!!!

Andrew Pudewa and Thoughtfullness
YESSS!!! I got to meet Andrew Pudewa and hear him speak. (Never heard of him? You must go check out the site: www.writing-edu.com ) Simply amazing and wonderful. He is the most entertaining speaker I've ever listened to. I didn't take notes, but I've learned so much, gleaned so much information, and I finally have some answers to how music affects our lives, what the normal differences are between the way boys and girls learn, and more. You must consider using his materials and going to hear his seminars if possible. I'm hooked. Thankyou IEW.
The thoughtfullness is this, I whatched an Anti-Da Vinci Code movie tonight, and how amazing it is that 'meticulously researched' books such as this can be so incredibly badly researched! Pray that God will send a 'bomb' to let people know how ridiculous this 'fiction' that is stated as fact in the front of the book is. Whatch these Anti-Da Vinci Code movies and read the Anti-Da Vinci Code books. Help people understand the hoax, now. It's simply awful how it has penetrated our society. Prayer and action, that's what it takes.
