Learn the basics… Notebooking is EASY! You are probably already Notebooking, yet never considered it as an integral part of your homeschool methods. It is SO easy that I am sure that you will be addicted! Ready to begin? The first step is to learn the basics yourself. They are easy! While much can be said, here are the basics: get supplies and resources together, begin with one notebook per child, begin bit-by-bit, try out fun ideas, let your children pursue their interests, constantly be on the lookout for great things to add to their notebooks, teach your children the basics, and turn them loose! That’s all! DO REMEMBER that this is not ANOTHER thing for YOU to do. Rather, it is the perfect way to train up your little ones to research, write, and record their education—all while building precious heirlooms!
Get Your Supplies Together…You probably have supplies ALREADY in your home. Gather them and organize them in your very own “Notebooking Nook!” You don’t have to have everything all at once! The most important things are your 3-ring binder, sheet protectors, paper, and writing tools. As you gather supplies, you will find that you have many, many other things right there in your home that will make your notebooks completely unique and personal. Then, the sky is the limit!
Find a good Notebooking Nook…When deciding on a spot, make sure that your spot has good lighting and a good, solid, clean, work surface. Make sure it is a good spot for you to think AND work on your set up. Set up a table, shelves for your notebooks, books, computer/printer, and organizational bins for your supplies.
Notebook EVERY day… Yep! Notebooking can (and should) be a part of every day. Keep your Notebooks handy and add to them each day. Then,
Keep your Notebooks safe… As your children work on their notebooks, be sure to keep them safe! Keep away from food, drinks, heat, cold, or other dangerous elements. Also, keep away from reach of little ones or pets.
Have a blast… The tough part is over and the rest will be a blast! Have fun...you are NOW in the publishing world!
