Hi!
Thanks so much for your email!
I love that you described yourself as my TIME KEEPER! You cute thing!
I have really enjoyed biographies of missionaries. There is something awesome about getting plugged into the lives of those so tuned into God! :) Here are just a few that I have listed in my book The Never-Ending Rushton Reading List:
Missionary Stories…
Brunchko By Olson
Missionary Stories and the Millers By Mildred Martin
Trailblazer Biographies…
My Book About Hudson (Hudson Taylor)
Granny Han’s Breakfast (Granny Han)
The Bandit of Ashley Downs (George Mueller)
The Hidden Jewel (Amy Carmichael)
The Queen’s Smuggler (William Tyndale)
It may be too soon for your daughter to read The Hiding Place about Corrie ten Boom, but you may want to see if her book Tramp for the Lord would be good for your little one. It is about her traveling stories as a speaker after the war. I read it years ago and we loved it. It has been a while since I read it, so you will want to preview it. She is one of my most favorite speakers and writers throughout time! :)
Another thing that we have really been enjoying lately is a book compiled by Rebecca St. James-- Sister Freaks. It is a new one that we found the other day about those TODAY in our culture and time period who have been our FEMALE heroes of the faith. It is SUPER! Elisabeth is reading it now. She is a huge Rebecca St. James fan so I thought she would love it, but it has surpassed our expectations.
I hope that this will help you. It has been a while since Elisabeth was that age--I LOVE THAT AGE! I am sure that there are tons of great options at Christian bookstores like Lifeway or Christian Bookstores. Check to see!
Well, must get running! Thanks so much for staying in touch! Hope you have a super day!
Love,
Cindy
