November is National Adoption Month!
Hi My name is Melissa Carter and my husband and I attend Highland Baptist Church in Florence. We have 5 children, 4 of whom we have adopted. We are currently adopting a special needs 3 year old boy from China. In honor of National Adoption Month in November, we are holding an Adoption Fair on Saturday November 5th to bring about awareness of the need of the fatherless, the orphan. Along with this fair we are having a fundraiser for our adoption with another family the Jamiesons who are adopting from China also. Part of the proceeds will establish the "The Least of These" Foundation and Trust fund to help reduce the financial strain to shoals area families who will adopt. The fund will also provide funds for orphan relief in various projects. Attached to this email is a flier with all of the specifics.
What we would ask is that you pass this information along to your congregations to support this effort that will have long lasting effects on those children who are the least of these.
