Oh! A Great Story!
Oh! Great Story!
Oh! I have just got back online after a VERY WELL-NEEDED break for the holidays. We have been swamped for months. It was nice to turn off the computer Wednesday and just be a mom/wife! We had a wonderful weekend!
One thing that was on my heart as I got offline was my concern for one of our families. Here is the email that I got and shared last week:
Cindy,
I'm not sure how you feel about this but thought I'd run it by you.
A young man from my church recently (9/16/05) married was just shipped out from WA and is now in Ft. Bennings, GA, possibly heading overseas (and missing his wonderful bride who is here in WA) would like to be with a family on Thanksgiving Day and I was wondering if there is anyone on this loop by there who knows a family that has an extra place at their table and would be able to allow him to come over to be with their family on Thanksgiving.
Blessings,

Obviously my heart was completely overwhelmed. If we had been close enough, I would have PERSONALLY adopted him! All I could do was share this email. AND...Shannon from GA stepped up to the call! I am ELATED!
Well, here is how it all worked out...you will LOVE it!
Cindy,
After doing my grocery shopping on Wednesday late afternoon, I called the soldier's sweet bride to tell her I had emailed your group about a place at Thanksgiving dinner for her hubby but hadn't seen any response from the egroup yet. He had been asking the fellas at the post if anyone knew of a family he could join to no avail. But I told the sweet turtledove bride I knew the Lord knew where he was to spend Thanksgiving. Then called my dd to let her know I was on my way home from grocery store (we live a ways out in the country). My dd said she had just received a call from a Shannon in GA who would love to have our dear soldier join her and hubby and their six children for Thanksgiving dinner!
They live a short distance from Ft. Bennings and were willing to pick him up even! I called her back when I got home; then called (crying tears of joy) the sweet bride to let her know the goodness of the Lord. She was on the other line with her newlywed lovebird soldier and would give him the particulars (Shannon's phone number) to make arrangements. What a blessing. I had tears of joy and delight: first with my dd, then with sweet bride; then dh; then with Shannon; then with the Lord! What a workout :)
Many thanks to Shannon and her hubby and her family!
Thank you, Cindy!
Thanking Jesus for His greatness!
Love and blessings,
Linda in WA
Are you guys as excited as I am??? This is the time of year that WE can make a difference in the lives of others. SO many people deal with their disappointments and issues from life during this time. They seem to put them away during the rest of the year, but the holiday season has a way of making you deal with those skeletons in your closet. My prayer this year has been to really be a part of paying attention to those around me who may be needing for us to minister to their hearts at this time. Join in...what a great present to give our precious Saviour!
Have a super day!
With Love,
Cindy...who is excited to be finished with my work for the day!!!!!
