Great Day

Posted in Painting

I went to my friend Mandy's today to help paint their new house. She had another friend, B, over too. Between the three of us we had 13 children there. It was a blast! We got there about 2:30 and finally left about 10:50 tonight. Audrey fell asleep the minute we got in the van. Philip cried the entire way home. And Thomas played his new guitar all the way home. His friend Evan (Mandy's oldest) gave him an acoustic guitar. Now he just has to learn how to play it. We're all very excited about him learning. We got home and I got Audrey out of the van. She walked into the house, and went back to sleep on the mudroom floor. We got everybody bathed and the kids are all in bed. And I'm too wound up to sleep.

I'm going to get to paint murals in their house! I'm so excited. Mandy picked out a really neat willow tree mural with a turtle, fish, frogs, dragonflys, etc. in a lake with a willow tree in the corner. It was the reason I bought the book it's in and I'm so excited to get to paint it on a wall. And we're going to have matching front doors because she wants the same thing I have around mine. And we're going to paint scripture in the kitchen. This is what it looks like around our door:

Kenny's in Branford on a hunting trip with his evangelist team. He'll be home Sunday afternoon in time to preach Sunday night!

We're going to start a co-op class too. I'm going to teach Art and Mandy's going to teach photography. We may add other things, but that's what we're going to start with. It will be just our kids, mine, Mandy's and B's to start out with...not counting the babies that's 11 kids (with two 3-year olds that will want to be included I'm sure).

Grand Cayman Island Sand

Posted in Painting

I have a dear friend going to the Grand Cayman Island next week, and I painted this bottle for her to take and collect a souvenier. It's a trash to treasure project as the bottle is an old empty bath salt container.
